19.01.2022 UPDATE: re. the Australia-Japan Relations Essay Contest Due to the COVID-19 situation, details of the Australia-Japan Relations Essay Contest will not be announ...ced in May as they are in normal years. We are currently considering whether or not the contest will be conducted at a later date in 2020 and what format the contest would take should it go ahead. We understand that the COVID-19 situation has resulted in new challenges for teachers, students and the broader school communities, and that the extra layer of complexity has added to everyones workload. We sincerely wish everyone the very best for Term 2.

15.01.2022 Follow us on Instagram too, please! https://www.instagram.com/fuchu_tourism_official/ There are so many interesting shops, restaurants and cafes to explore... in Fuchu! This time, we went to Cafe 5 CINQ on the west side of Okunitama-jinja Shrine. Its a very spacious cafe and you can also buy freshly ground coffee beans there! They also brew delicious coffee ground from beans. It has a strong flavor and is served with Lotus biscuits. There are delicious morning and lunch menus, snacks and sweets, and take outs are available too. You can spend a relaxing time, chatting with your friends while enjoying the spacious and quiet cafe and the greenery outside. One of the attractions of the cafe is the space filled with the owners hobbies. The owner seems to be a great audiophile as he owns a very good quality audio set, with large speakers and audio equipment lined up all over the back wall. You can hear jazz in the background while enjoying your meal. It is said that the model railroad was also created by the owner as his hobby, during the self-restraint corona period. The model display is really wonderful! 12.01.2022 Follow us on Instagram too, please! https://www.instagram.com/fuchu_tourism_official/ Aokiya began its history in Fuchu in 1893 as a confectionery shop. To...day we would like to introduce Aokiyas Amabie wagashi. They came up with a campaign which promotes eating their delicious wagashi confectionary and having a fun time with your family with the feeling you want to end the new coronavirus infection. You can also get Amabie cards with messages from the staff of each store. There are 10 designs in all. Legend says that Amabie, a "yokai" character said to predict the coming of plagues, which has a half-human, half-fish body with a beak appeared off what is now the coast of Kumamoto Prefecture during the Edo period. It told people to share pictures of itself with others to drive away the plague, before vanishing. For more than 120 years, in the land of Tokyos Musashino, where forest and water are abundant, Aokiya has been dedicated to making confectionery and has been loved by locals. Sales: 1. This years Kurayami Festival was cancelled so please enjoy last years footage! Do you know traditional Japanese masks which appear on Dashi (Japanese wooden floats) while you can hear Hayashi (musical accompaniment for traditional Japanese dance)? They are: *Kitsune (fox) *Shishi-mai (lion) *Hyottoko is a silly, childlike figure with a comical expression on his face. His mouth is almost always rounded and skewed to one side. *Okame, also known as otafuku, is like the female version of Hyottoko, and their masks usually appear together. She is portrayed as a woman with a large, oval-shaped head and smiling eyes. #stayhome # STAY HOME #fuchu # # #tokyo # #japan # #cooljapan #japanfocus #japaninstagram #japaneseculture #beautifuljapan #thisisjapan #unknownjapan #instajapan #instatokyo #visitjapan #visittokyo #discoverjapan #discovertokyo #tokyotrip #japantravel #traveljapan #traveltokyo #tokyojapan #visittokyo #japanlife #kurayamimatsuri # @ Fuchu, Tokyo See more
