It was posted on my airbnb site "As a single traveler, it can be challenging to find affordable accommodation that has character and all the amenities youd expect of a couples retreat, so it was a genuine treat to find myself so luxuriously catered for on my night away. The two rooms were fitted out with everything I could possibly want for an extended stay. The spacious bedroom suite, with its functioning pot-bellied stove and lounge area was perf...ect for cosying up in the evening with a DVD from the broad selection available and a cheese platter, and equally relaxing to begin the day with classical music and breakfast while watching the local kangaroos out the window. Having access to coffee (both plunger, machine and decaf!) and an impressive range of teas at all times, as well as a fridge, meant that I could very comfortably look after myself whenever I wanted. The continental breakfast selection was wonderful, and displayed beautifully. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations, and found you to be a really lovely host. I am so thankful I found your listing online, and really happy that I had the chance to stay. Ill be back for sure!!" See more

This is an outlet for the Wild T...rout Gordon Hat Shoppe which specialises in a range of Harris Tweed patchwork headwear, apparel and accessories . The Scottish and Irish inspired range will provide everyone with a sense of quirky humour and individual antiquity . Karen Bruno welcomes everyone to this exciting event with drinks and nibbles served. The highlights of the day features a special performance at 12 noon by our very famous Blackwoodian Scottish singer Fiona Ross . 19.01.2022 I have only recently started renting out the sunroom and it has received great reviews. It is still under renovation but it is a comfortable and gorgeous light filled room with spectacular views. I am also catering for single travellers too as I charge per person not per room.

18.01.2022 Here are some snaps from the weekend where I hosted my first guests who booked in for the relaxation packages. It started with High Tea when they arrived and after a mineral bath from Blackwood Springs and then essential oil massage, a Moroccan inspired dinner awaited them.

14.01.2022 I am excited to announce that Sivani House is now providing Relaxation Packages that include massage, mineral bath, all meals (including a picnic basket for lunch if desired), guided meditation, gentle body work such as stretching and yoga and of course accommodation. Each package can be tailor made to your arrival and departure times and is available for a single person and up to 4 people (twin share). Stay one night or more and enjoy the comforts and serenity of Sivani House.

13.01.2022 Hi Luke at Karon Farm Coffee- Happy New Year. I just had to tell you that your coffee once again was the talking point at breakfast with my guests as they loved it so much. They then went down to the Blackwood Post Office Cafe and bought some to take home. Well done.

07.01.2022 So many of my Hat Shoppe customers have been moved by the beautiful singing of Fiona Ross as they walk into the Hat Shoppe. Some literally stop in the door way and put a hand on their heart and ask "whoooooo is that singing?" (I am not exaggerating!) Fionas CDs are the perfect back drop to the Harris Tweed hats as they tell stories of traditional Scottish Tales. And now we all have the opportunity to hear this amazing singer in person. Her concert is on July 14 at the Kew Court House Performing Arts Centre. I hope to see some of you there

07.01.2022 Kolhapuri Chicken is a dish that tickles the tastebuds of people who love spicy food. It has lots of spices and is known for its fiery taste. A milder yet delicious dahl is available for those who are not wanting the heat, but if you are game, then it is well worth the try. A light and fluffy paratha bread accompanies this weeks meal with our usual combination of vegetables, chutney and yogurt followed by a delicious and warm desert.

05.01.2022 It has been a busy house this weekend with two guests in the BnB for 3 nights. They are up for a wedding at the Garden St Erth and Blackwood turned on beautiful weather for the bride and groom. The sunroom has also been booked by two fit women who are having a break from the children to come up to the bush and walk. Both groups have been thrilled with the food and especially the friendly service at The Blackwood Pub Hotel. My guests love the stroll across the road for a delicious meal and the roaring fires always get a mention this time of year. Good work Michael, Darren and team.

04.01.2022 Our Indian Nights on Wednesdays have been very enjoyable and although each week I put together a different menu, there have already have been some stand out fav...ourites such as the the carrot croquettes, the chicken tikka, the date and tamarind chutney and the dessert, Shrikkhand (sweet saffron yogurt) which people are wanting to buy in tubs and take home. This coming week we will be featuring Indian breads that will have 2 delicious creamy curries (one meat and one vegetarian- your choice ) to accompany them. So for those who have been wanting the Roti and Naan breads, this is your week. Also in the coming weeks we will be having some special events such as an Indian street food night where you will taste food unlike any restaurant here in Australia, as the recipes and style of serving will be coming straight from the streets of Calcutta and Bombay. This weekend I caught up with Susan Humphrey up here in Blackwood and listening to her stories of India and her knowledge of food was very exciting and together we mapped out the next 5 weeks with themes such as a Kashmiri night, a Southern Indian tiffin food fest, a bengali night and a Bollywood Bombay evening (is anyone available to come up and do/teach a bit of Bollywood?) A really lovely guy in Gordon who roasts this amazing coffee with plans to expand. I hope he will write up the story of how it all began- it is one of those universe meant to be stories.
