In the ACT 56% of those convicted simply get a good behaviour order. 13% get a fully suspended sentence. Similarly damage property over $1000 (most smartphones and laptops eg) carries a sentence of up to 10 years. 46% of those convicted got a good behaviour order. 13% got a fine. Not sure they’ve thought this through. Every partner visa couple having a petty quarrel will now be risking visa cancellation under this new rule.and will need Migration Law assistance.
