06.01.2022 We recently refreshed the brand identify for @baseplatedesign, a multi-disciplinary studio designing skate parks, along with residential and commercial buildings & renovations. Baseplate’s principal, Darren White, asked us to review his documentation templates in the first instance, but after some follow up discussions about where his brand was at, he decided a full brand review was in order. With two quite distinct offers for two very different client-types, the urge to crea...te two separate brands was strong, but through our creative process we were able to design a symbol that ties the squared lines and angles of architecture to the smooth curves of skate parks. The overlap of the symbol speaks to the intersection of the technical aspects of Darren’s capabilities in CAD and 3D model design. The use of reds, blacks and greys also honours the retired identity that served Baseplate well for close to a decade.
