24.01.2022 *updated* As many of you may already be aware from the announcements from CQ regarding a halt to all racing, the 3rd round of the series is now unfortunately been cancelled. We'll work out what refunds look like and what to do with series points/prizes over the coming days and post another update when we're on top of it. SSS Team

14.01.2022 The wait is over!!!!!! Round 2 will be moving to Mount Cotton. This is a slightly undulating circuit held on the private roads, of the RACQ Mobility Centre of Excellence. These are top quality roads that will give you a riding experience unmatched by any other short course in Queensland. There are a couple of rolling hills, nice clean fast sweeping corners and it's all ours, so the left and right lanes are available to you. More information coming soon

11.01.2022 The Sizzling Summer Series is a long running race series that has been featured on the Queensland calendar. The series was originally born out of the unique kermesse style of racing and over the last few years the race has evolved into the street circuit criterium race that we now all know. For SSS21 we will be paying homage to the origin of the series, as round 2 will be featuring something unique that we haven’t seen over the last couple of editions. All will be revealed tomorrow.

06.01.2022 Thank you everyone for your patience. In light of what we are all going through as a community, the club has made the decision to forgo earnings from this year's series in favour of maximising the refund available, whilst also acknowledging the racing that happened in earnest throughout round 1 and 2 with some series prizemoney, representing a close to break even position for the series this year. For those that aren't aware, the Logan Cycling Club uses the earnings from the ...series to subsidise traffic control throughout the rest of the year at our regular Saturday afternoon racing to keep it low cost. So we only ask that when the world turns back up the right way, you come along to support us when when you can, and come back to race the series next year. So: - Series results and prize money will be allocated based on the 2 rounds that took place (emails on their way to placegetters) and some acknowledgement posts to come. - Refund details for the series entries have been processed and should be on their way (R3 only entries should have been processed last week). The club would also like to thank those entrants that indicated they were happy to forgo any refund, however managing individual requests would have been extremely difficult to administer.

04.01.2022 Important Round 3 Update: We are continuing to monitor the evolving situation and are having regular discussions with the relevant bodies. With the information at hand, the final round will go ahead as scheduled, on the basis that: The event is outdoors and within the limits of the government's current guidance concerning events with static crowds of greater than 500, and there are risk reduction measures available that will be put in place (these will be communicated to all during the week).

02.01.2022 So, whoops. Sorry folks, we kicked around some ideas early on about how to announce results after count-backs, and whether we could do something fancy with virtual podiums or ISO selfie jersey shots. But in the end the conversations petered out and we all went about our lives in this weird time. So stand by for some un-fancy posts of grade groupings with the series placings on count-back. Prizemoney emails will follow over the weekend/Monday, and junior prizes will be handed over to the clubs now we can move around a bit more freely.
