21.01.2022 With temperatures set to hit over 40 degrees tomorrow, make sure you know the signs of heat-related illnesses. If you - or someone you know - experiences a high body temperature, flushed dry skin, a rapid pulse, headache or disorientation, call 000 for help.

20.01.2022 If anyone is planning to travel down to Campbelltown and surrounding, be aware of the road closures. Keep updated by checking livetraffic.com regularly.

20.01.2022 The Fairfield community is deeply saddened to hear the loss of two young volunteers during this season. The RFS volunteers were loved and known by the St John Ambulance Fairfield Division volunteers. Our deepest sympathy, thoughts and condolences go towards the families and our fellow colleagues at the RFS Horsley Park base.

18.01.2022 Happy Volunteers Week to all the volunteers in our community.

13.01.2022 Stay safe this silly season with these five first aid tips from St John: 1. While cooking in the kitchen take care to turn saucepan handles away from the edge, put sharp knives and appliances away after use and try to keep other people out of the kitchen. 2. To avoid disaster make sure to replace any faulty lights, keep fragile items out of reach of children and pets and always use a ladder when hanging lights up high.... 3. Be aware of how many drinks you are consuming, drink water in between alcoholic beverages to remain hydrated and make sure to eat. 4. On hot days, make sure to drink plenty of water, minimise physical activity, wear light clothing and try to avoid alcohol. 5. Naturally, children want to test out their new toys, just ensure that gifts such as bikes and skateboards are accompanied with protective equipment and you keep an eye on children, particularly around the water.

11.01.2022 Flags are at half mast today for our two heroes Geoffrey Keaton and Andrew ODwyer from Horsley Park Rural Fire Brigade who lost their lives fighting a blaze in Buxton last night.

06.01.2022 Last year in NSW, over 350 lives were lost on our roads. The holiday season is one of the most high-risk times on Australian roads so we are asking you to help keep each other safe. It can take up to 15 minutes for an ambulance to arrive at the scene of a motor vehicle crash. In those critical minutes, knowing how to keep airways clear, stop bleeding, and how to perform CPR can mean the difference between life and death. The first 5-7 minutes after a car crash are crucial. Th...ere are three key things you need to remember to make a difference: 1. Keep airways clear 2. Stop any bleeding 3. Know how to perform CPR Download our Help Card to learn more www.firstonscene.org.au You can purchase your own car safety kit from St John NSW here: https://www.stjohnnsw.com.au/st-john-just-in-case-car-safet You never know when these tips + kit might come in handy.

06.01.2022 St John Ambulance (NSW) has been active during this fire season at many evacuation centres, RFS base camps and helping out our fury friends. Fairfield Division has donated 3 large boxes of supplies to the Bangalow Koalas. Bangalow Koalas is a Not-For-Profit (like us) that is dedicated to the welfare and preservation of Rural and Regional Australian wildlife.

03.01.2022 health boots on the ground in Batemans Bay. The Batemans Bay evacuation centre is ready to support the community. #NSWFires
