19.01.2022 Our newly designed Ambulance will be touring regional Western Australia over the coming months as part of the Aboriginal Ambulance Services Project. Jilalga Murray has created this unique, eye-catching design. From the Artist Jilalga Murray of JILALGA DESIGNS, she says; "An ambulance can seem cold and scary to many, but my hope was that an ambulance could seem warm, safe & inviting. This design focuses on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal families. It is a celebrati...on for all members of your family who can be helped and cared for by St John Ambulance. Throughout the design you can see figures coming together and being wrapped up in the good services of St John volunteers and staff. In addition to this, the background colour of the design changes. This shows that, services are available across many communities, and across many peoples Country. It reminds us all that St John can be accessed all over the state. Another strong element in the design is the repetitive circles radiating across the image, these symbolize the siren echoing out across the towns & communities as the paramedics go out, in the aim of saving lives. In summary the image was specifically created to celebrate positive public awareness of medical services available and to invite people to join the membership, utilise the services of St John Ambulance & even become paramedics to help make a difference to peoples lives."
