09.01.2022 Please Help Us By Voicing Your Support for Federal Funding towards the Toomuc Valley Nature Reserve Shared Path! http://bit.ly/2SJpIdq. For the past 18 months SJD Homes has been and trying to obtain funding to support the identified need for the extension of The Toomuc path. The proposal has attracted immense support from the community as there are a huge number of residents, sporting groups, children & families who actively exercise, walk, run, cycle and exercise dogs along... the Toomuc trail to the south of Princes Highway. The need to extend the path north has also been recognised by surrounding schools, Toomuc Landcare, Cardinia Shire and supported by Jason Wood MP Federal Member for LaTrobe, and will provide many benefits including the safety for school children walking to and from surrounding schools. Stage 1; the project works include the development of a 3 metre wide shared path to continue from Syme Road and extend to Brown Road. Stage 2; will then join Brown Road to the very popular Cardinia Aqueduct Trail. The benefits are many including: improved community & school children safety all abilities access use for cycling, walking, sporting groups encourage tourism help reduce obesity epidemic improve social cohesion support healthy living and social recreation. 01.01.2022 And we're off & running with the second house for 'Housing the Homeless'!......Work has begun & again we thank all the trades, suppliers and supporters for their generosity of time, labour and funds to make this project a reality and help make a difference to someone's life. SJD Homes is again working with The Victorian Homeless Fund (VHF) to build this second house in Cardinia Shire - (the first home was built in Ashwood). The Victorian Homeless Fund (VHF) has aimed to break... the homelessness cycle by building houses for some of the most vulnerable in the community, including women and children who may be escaping domestic violence. The state government has supplied VHF with two blocks of land and we are taking on the build of the homes with suppliers and tradespeople donating all materials and labour to help keep costs down. 100% of any financial sponsor funds sourced are also used to help construct the house. The project is also supported by HIA. See more
