20.01.2022 Hi all, after much deliberation, and in discussion with national Kumataka leadership and consultation of the expert advice on COVID-19, we have decided it is pr...udent to close the dojo for the time being. Judo and jujutsu simply do not allow for the maintenance of social-distancing recommendations. We do not wish to increase the risk of cross-contamination for any members, their families, or the broader community. It is thought that close quarter sports like judo may pose a higher risk than other arts/sports/community activities. No training tonight. We will continue to monitor the situation, and re-open the dojo just as soon as the all-clear is given, taking into account the advice from COAG, AIS, Judo Australia and other authorities. Many apologies for the disturbance but we feel hindsight isnt whats needed in this situation. Tom

12.01.2022 Hi all, Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness caused by a new virus that has been declared a global pandemic. Our priority is the continued wellbeing of our students, instructors and supporters; we can all do our bit by practising good hygiene etiquette and by minimising potential exposure to illnesses. Everyone should practise good hygiene to protect against infections, this includes:... Frequently washing your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, or using an alcohol based hand gel Covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue or flexed elbow Dispose of the tissues immediately after use and perform hand hygiene Refraining from touching mouth and nose Avoiding close contact with anyone who has a cold or flu-like symptoms We ask that you do not attend the dojo if you have ANY of the following symptoms: Fever Flu-like symptoms including cough, sore throat and fatigue Shortness of breath OR You are under isolation or quarantine as advised by a medical professional OR You are awaiting the results of COVID-19 testing Many thanks, Tom More information on COVID-19 can be found at: https://ww2.health.wa.gov.au/Articles/A_E/Coronavirus - Department of Health Government of WA https://www.health.gov.au/ - Department of Health Australian Government
