Thank you for letting me share your story Bring on the next adventure ps: hellooooooo ABS grrrl ... . If you don’t get inspired by this story, I don’t know what will I first joined Mieke in mid 2017. Back then, that person was in a dark place. That person had no confidence, she lacked inner strength and self worth. She believed that everybody else in her life mattered more than she did, she was very selfless, but this quality didn't do her any favours. When I started training with the girls, I weighed in at just over 100kgs. I had physical strength but lacked cardiovascular endurance. Every single time I stepped through the doors of the gym, all my troubles and the heaviness weighing on my shoulders would melt away. Muay Thai became my outlet. It was a way for me to release the stress and find the strength. Being surrounded by supportive, strong, encouraging women kept building me up, higher and higher. I learned discipline through the sport, even though I was always sore and tired, I still got my butt into the classes (with Mieke's encouragement ) For me, the feeling of finally belonging gave me sustenance, made me a better mum, as I was an example to my 3 children. I showed them even when it seems impossible, you can still rise above and make an incredible change in your life..with help.. And that s what Mieke and the team did for me, they helped me.
