24.01.2022 60 SECONDS OF SKAL What better way to spend the weekend than getting to know our brilliant Melbourne Skalleagues! Happy Friday with the incomparable CRAIG HUNT! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y80L2Qc9drY

24.01.2022 This week we were joined by special guest, Aaron Zoanetti (lawyer at Pointon Partners and Director of Green & Gold Army, Sports Travel Specialists) for our September Zoom event. Whilst we remain in lockdown here in Melbourne, it is wonderful to be able to continue our virtual catch ups (and Skal toasts ! ) until we can meet again in person. A huge thank you to Aaron for sharing his legal expertise and tips for tour/travel business operators with us. Skal!

23.01.2022 Dear Fellow Skålleagues I truly hope that you and your loved ones are staying safe and well. Though an oft-overused term, it is certainly fair to say that this is an unprecedented time for us all, especially within our beloved travel and tourism industry.... Its hard to believe that only a few short weeks ago, we were conducting our AGM, welcoming in our new Melbourne Committee and celebrating our great Skål Club and the year ahead. And now, the impact of the coronavirus is affecting the daily lives of people all over the world, including right here at home, in ways that are almost impossible to fathom. I want to personally offer my support to all Skålleagues during this most difficult time and remind you all that this is one of the very reasons we belong to this wonderful international industry association we are all in this together! I encourage you all to take the time to reach out to fellow Skålleagues, sometimes even just checking in to say hi can make a world of difference to our spirits and that of the people around us. It may also be that some of our Skålleagues could assist with potential work opportunities for fellow Skålleagues that are suffering professionally at this challenging time, and if that may be the case, please do not hesitate to contact me directly so I can help facilitate this. It is important to remember that there WILL be LIGHT at the end of the tunnel. As we know, traveling is one of lifes greatest joys good for the heart, good for the soul, and for Skålleagues, it is our very livelihood. During this unsettling period of travel bans, social distancing and self-isolation, the urge to get out in the world is even stronger. Lets continue to dream big, make plans and talk to each other, so that when the time comes again, we will travel AND be ever more grateful for the freedom to do so! Given the wide-ranging government restrictions currently in place, and that our absolute paramount concern is for the health and safety of Skålleagues, we regretfully, but out of necessity, advise the cancellation of our April and May functions. We will continue to monitor and review all upcoming future events and ensure you are all kept updated. Fellow Skålleagues, stay STRONG, stay SAFE, stay CONNECTED. With love and Skål! Tara Rose Strickland President
