20.01.2022 Safety Switch Reminder The last 4 houses I have worked at, had at least 1 RCD (safety switch) fail. These safety switches save lives and any rental house or house for sale should have at least 2 safety switches covering the power and lighting circuits. And its a no brainer if you own the house you live in, you should have them regardless. They should be tested monthly by pressing the TEST button located on them. On activation this should turn off the safety switch and you s...hould be able to reset it. If it doesnt activate or reset, it is faulty and will need to be replaced. They are usually located below your outside meter/switchboard. The photos shows an example of an non compliant rusted away steel earth stake which has broken off and a compliant earth stake with "Danger Tag" attached.
