17.01.2022 CAMEO 4 UPDATE Well, as some of you have already started receiving shipping notifications, I guess the Cameo is out of the bag We received our massive 40’ container full of machines, mats and blades and we’ve been working our butts off to get them packaged ready for Australia Post to collect and on their way to you all!... We’re about 1/2 way through and will be working through the weekend to ensure every single back order is packaged and collected by AP Monday. WE HAVE SOLD OUT OF SINGLE MACHINES AND ONLY HAVE A LIMITED AMOUNT OF BUNDLES NOW AVAILABLE. Any machine orders placed from today onwards will leave next week. Some of you will start to receive tracking numbers from this afternoon onwards... this is so we are ready to hit the ground running as soon as they arrive and we can get them out to you all ASAP. Once Australia Post have scanned your machine you'll be able to track it. PLEASE!!!! allow until at least mid next week for this to happen!!!! Please be patient with us!! 02.01.2022 Happy Sunday!! Raise your hand if you’re on your 4th bucket of coffee, still in PJ’s and considering UberEats just so you don’t have to get dressed and go grocery shopping today! With so many machines heading out to new homes this week, I thought I’d do a quick Silhouette Basics - Getting Started post so all you new (and very excited owners) can hit the ground running when your machine arrives.... In no particular order here goes! * You can start getting familiar with the software before your machine even arrives. Go to www.silhouetteamerica.com/software and download the appropriate version of the software for your computer. (Those that have purchased Designer or Business Edition will need to wait for your code to arrive to upgrade from the basic version). * Join ALL the Fb groups There’s a heap of Silhouette machine/software groups both in Australia and world wide that you can join for inspiration, advice and troubleshooting. My recommended go to’s are Silhouette 101 (also on YouTube and a blog) and Silhouette School Blog (Fb and a blog). * Silhouette Studio has a pretty good resource directly in the software as well. When you’re setting up your machine there will also be a link to download the user manual. * Make sure to register your machine. Not for warranty purposes as your warranty is with us, but when you register your machine, Silhouette America will email you a code for a FREE 1 Month subscription to their Design Store. (1 month or $40AU, which ever comes first). So you can download up to $40AU worth of cut files or fonts that are yours to keep! No additonal purchase or subscriptions required unless you want to! My final piece of advice is this.... in your box there will be a little slip of paper with a web address on it - www.silhouetteamerica.com/setup FOLLOW THE STEPS AND THE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY and you’ll be fine! OK, this is actually my last piece of advice.... as with any new piece of machinery there’s a lot to take in and learn... you need to learn to walk before you can run. Start with the basics - cutting basic shapes and words. Learn how your machine works, the noises it makes. Spend time loading the mat, installing the blade, using the cross cutter and pulling out the roll feeder! Once you’ve got the basics down pat then feel free to jump in the deep end and move on to print and cut and the specialty blades Trust me, the time and effort you invest at the very beginning will be rewarded 100 fold when you’re ready to move on to the more advanced stuff these machines can do. Most of all HAVE FUN!!!
