25.01.2022 One of the most common thoughts that we can get stuck in when life gets challenging is Why is this happening to me? What did I do wrong? It is almost as though we are talking to ourselves or God and saying what did I do to deserve this? The most powerful realisation to have when this belief shows up is that it’s not what happens to you but how you perceive and respond to what happens to you that creates suffering or freedom. ... Suffering is ultimately a choice that you make when you choose to believe that life is happening to you and not for you. You suffer when you hold onto the belief that this shouldn’t be happening to me when in reality it is happening. Freedom is ultimately a choice that you make when you choose to see that everything in your life is happening for you and not to you. You become free from suffering the moment you can love and embrace what happens without your story. When you suffer you create a self imposed prison made by the beliefs that you are hanging onto from the past.
