25.01.2022 So, what was that excuse as to why you cant train? #inclusive

24.01.2022 Hello Everyone, OSU! We hope that you're well and we wanted to let you know what we are doing at Epping Dojo to play our part in reducing the effects of the COVID19 Global Pandemic. We felt the need to reach out to let you know that were here to support you at this time, and like most Australians, were monitoring the latest developments closely.... The Dojo Kun (Code) of Character, Sincerity, Effort, Etiquette and Self Control, combined with our famous Aussie Battler Spirit will help see us through the testing times ahead of us. Staying calm and focused is what our community needs to keep front of mind to avoid paranoia, panic and chaos. We're ALL in this together. Over and above the measures communicated by the YMCA and inline with the Federal and State Governments, we are looking for your support with the following. Our Responsibilities: 1. We have modified and ceased parts of our syllabus so that person to person contact is reduced or removed 2. We have a designated person at the start and end of classes reminding students to maintain hygiene standards and to take advantage of the Hand Sanitiser which is available. 3. We have additional reminders on the doors regarding personal hygiene. 4. Any equipment (kick shields, focus mitts, boards etc.) used will be sanitised before and after use. Your Responsibilities: 1. Ensure that you maintain good personal hygiene - eg when washing hands, sing the "Happy Birthday to you" song twice before rinsing your hands and then drying them thoroughly. 2. Ensure that you comply with the State and Federal guidelines 3. If you are unwell, stay away from class and seek appropriate guidance 4. If you have traveled outside of Australia, you must not come to class and must isolate yourself from the community for at least 14 days. While we continue to watch and monitor the situation closely, please ensure that you are keeping yourselves informed through the appropriate and official channels. 19.01.2022 The onset of a Sydney Summer, got me like...

18.01.2022 Hello Everyone, OSU! We hope that you're well and as you will be aware, the effects of the COVID-19 Global Pandemic are now intruding deeper into our lives, and the impacts will be felt for much time to come; sadly at this stage, no one can predict with any accuracy as to how long that will be. As of today (23rd March 2020) and in line with the updated NSW Government policy recommendations, we will not be training in the Epping YMCA Sports Hall until further notice, as we are... an indoor sporting venue attached to a gym. To reiterate, these are going to be very tying and testing times ahead, and it is important that individuals work to the benefit of the community, and keeping the Dojo Kun (Code) of Character, Sincerity, Effort, Etiquette and Self Control front of mind will be paramount. We're ALL in this together. The "lock down" will mean that we become increasingly sedentary, and while reducing the risks of contracting the Corona Virus, it will increase the risks of other conditions. Staying active is key to keeping healthy, so taking time every day to practice Kihon (techniques) and Kata (sequences) is a good way to keep moving, facilitating physical and mental health. Communication is required more so now than ever, so don't be afraid to reach out to us or to the other members of the Dojo. As a reminder, if not done so already please reach out to the YMCA. Separately, there has been some groundswell regarding digitising the training experience, and were looking into what this means and might look like. However, no decisions have been made and we will communicate separately around this. We will see you again (hopefully soon) on the other side of the curve! While we continue to watch and monitor the situation closely, please ensure that you are keeping yourselves informed through the appropriate and official channels.
