To show respect is to encourage the input and suggestions of your colleagues.... All members of the team are important and all of their views are equally valid. It is important to listen to the views of others and to be prepared to examine viewpoints that may differ from your own. Do not constantly criticize colleagues over the little things, or belittle, demean or patronize remember that a series of seemingly trivial actions, added up over time, can constitute bullying. 21.01.2022 Hi Friends and Leaders out there. In this time of fear and panic, I wanted to put out a word of encouragement... I don't know what religion you do or don't follow, but my family and I love and follow Jesus.... God told me a month ago to "put on my shoes." And, being the rather black and white person that I am, I did so straight away. And, I continued to wear my shoes everywhere except to bed. My husband commented on this and I explained what I had heard. You can imagine what a stretch it was for him - it can be a bit radical living with me ;) Anyway, I kept pressing in but I didn't hear anything from the Lord. I was in the process of researching a long list of promptings from God and that was taking up all my limited free time. Then, last week as I was praying, I got the idea to look at shoes. Wow - why didn't I start there? BOOM! God showed me how shoes and feet are viewed in the bible to illustrate overcoming and authority and transferring ownership in old times. Then, He took me to Acts 12:8. This is the story about Peter being arrested by Herod and thrown in jail, imprisoned in chains and kept in constant vigil by two guards. Due to the faithful prayers of the church for him, on the very night Herod was going to take him out to be killed, (just as he had done to James a little while earlier) an angel came to Peter, struck on his right side and the chains fell off of him. The angel instructed him to "Dress yourself and put your sandals on" - and he did so. I believe in this short passage, God is showing us that He will deliver us from this current situation AND that we must take up our authority as believers to come into agreement with Him about His awesomeness and provision. I came across a wonderful article on shoes and the author suggests that the different types of shoes represent the different types of works God does in our lives. In the case of "put your sandals on" - the author suggests that this means deliverance. See the article here: https://hubpages.com//A-Bible-Study-On-Shoes-The-Gospel-In And, based on the passage that follows in Acts, I believe it does: Acts 12: 11: When Peter had come to himself, he said, "Now I certainly know that the Lord has sent His angel and delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting." Since reading this passage, I have no longer been convicted to wear my shoes constantly. God has made His point and now I must press into this. And, because I know my Father is a God of community, I am sharing this story so that you too can be encouraged that as we pray and come into agreement with His awesome mercy and love for us, in spite of our sin, rebellion and iniquity, that He will turn the tide in extraordinary ways. Our God is an awesome God and He reigns not only in the heavenly but in your and my hearts. Much blessing,Kerry Anne
