25.01.2022 We have another #SucessStory during COVID! Thank you Julfia for letting us share your story, you are a true inspiration to your classmates from the last #SkillME class. "My name is Julfia Ahmed Marak, I am originally from India. I moved to Australia with my family in May 2018. I was working as a Service Manager in India. I started my job searching early this year. It was not a successful start at the beginning and I realised I had to refine my cover letter & resume & have a m...ore strategic approach to my job search. This is when I came to know about the TAFE NSW's Skilled Migrant Employment training program through SkillME . This program has helped me understand the job market, update my resume and cover letter more aligned to the job requirements, and have the right approach. After the course, I got a call for 2 job interviews within 1 month. I was able to crack one of them and secured a job for myself as a Team Leader with KPMG Australia. I want to thank my teacher, Lianna Taranto, for all the help and guidance she has provided throughout the program. I also want to thank Marjorie from SkillMe for the training and her support throughout. I would encourage migrants who are looking for a job to contact SkillME and try to take advantage and make the most out of it! Be sincere & always be positive! #jobsearch #resumehelp #skilledmigrants See more

24.01.2022 Attention #Engineer Jobseekers in Australia! According to data from Job Outlook, the number of engineering professionals in the industrial sector has been stable in recent years, shifting from 30,200 workers in 2014 to 30,100 in 2019. Manufacturing made up the largest proportion of employment in the industry, accounting for 35.7% of the industrial manufacturing workforce. Looking forward to 2024, the number of workers in the industrial engineering sector is expected to remai...n largely unchanged. However, the long-term effects of COVID-19 remains to be seen, and could impact employment in the coming months and years. https://www.michaelpage.com.au//key-industry-trends-engine

21.01.2022 We have another #SuccessStory! We'd like to congratulate *Rohin on this new job! We wish him all the best. "I was fortunate enough to come across the SkillME LinkedIn page before coming to Australia & was very lucky to get a seat at the Skilled Migrant Employment Program, upon my arrival after getting in touch with Marjorie. The class had a warm atmosphere where I could meet people from different walks of life and Lianna was a brilliant teacher who always excelled in keeping ...the flock together. The Resource Guide provided by TAFE Digital and SkillME is akin to a Bible for people looking for opportunities and every chapter is devoted to all the crucial parts of a job search - be it resume and cover letter writing or interview preparation along with phone etiquette. The program also involved mock interviews, meeting and greeting recruiters who are sharing valuable industry insights and a chance for an internship upon completion of the program, to get local experience. The help and guidance of all my classmates and Lianna helped me to secure a role in my own field before completing the course and I was fortunate enough to have the whole team rallying for my success. But a few months into my new role, I had to look for another opportunity as I was laid off due to the global pandemic and Marjorie came to my rescue again by giving me a chance to join the mentorship program run by SkillME in partnership with the Salesforce Sydney office. Meeting my mentor once a week gave me the much-needed motivation that I needed and the pep talks we had resulted in an effective job search plan which helped me to land my next opportunity again. I would highly recommend SkillMe for any new migrants to this country as it is a result driven and well-planned program which helps to bring the best out of you with their unconditional support." #skilledmigrants #diversityandinclusion #sydneyjobs #ITJobs #BeatCOVID #jobsearchingcourse #TAFE #skillme *Rohin is not his real name See more

03.01.2022 With all the sad events happening now, we could all use a pick-me-up story! We'd like to congratulate Rohin, who, against all odds, have secured a fantastic job in IT for himself. "My name is Rohin and I'm a technology Product Manager / Analyst originally from India. I came to Australia in February this year, right before COVID came to effect so many people & businesses. As you can imagine, my job searching journey was very difficult. Companies were laying off people or on a... hiring freeze while the economic impact of COVID looked so uncertain. So, these past few months, I used the time to build my network, upskill and kept reaching out to people on LinkedIn. SkillME helped me by organising a mentor from who is familiar with the Australian tech industry. My Mentor provided some very good insight into the Job market that definitely helped me land a Business Analysts role with an amazing tech company, 4mation Technologies. My advice to any job seeker in the current climate is to build your network, upskill while you wait, reach out to recruiters/companies (where you'd like to work) on LinkedIn. Also take advantage of programs like SkillMe and the many opportunities they provide. Also most importantly, Do not give up. Ever." #SkilledMigrants #SuccessStory #COVIDSuccess #LinkedIN
