They were instrumental as one of the first industries where Black American women freed themselves from working under white families as domestic servants. They allowed women to own their own businesses and support their own community. They doubled as schools at night to educate black women undercover. Have you seen The Umbrella Academy last series?... The scenes of activism in the black beauty parlour are based on fact. They were a safe space for black civil rights movements. See more

12.01.2022 Micro Needling This moment represents a lot of moments for SkinBliss. Covid was many different things for us all. For me it was an integral time for my business. I know this sounds like a contradiction as like many other businesses we were forcibly closed for an extended time.... Whilst at first that was terrifying I soon realised it was a gift. A gift of TIME. For the first time since owning SkinBliss in 10 years I got time to restructure, redevelop and retrain. We developed an online booking system, an online shop and a new website to help run SkinBliss more smoothly. I got time to finalise the development of Liz Freeman Aromachologie my own product range. I was able retrain in some advanced skin techniques and research into new skin technologies. I was able to make decisions about what technology we were going to implement and actually had the TIME to research all the options available to make informed decisions that align with our ethos. This little device is Phase 1 or our Advance Skin program at SkinBliss. Let’s just say we are super excited See more

02.01.2022 This land of ours. Always love heading for these hills near home. Are you beach or country? I’m definitely country but use the beach like medicine a good fix often to clear and straighten me out. But the land under my feet will always be where I feel most at home.
