18.01.2022 After having switched from working at an office to my home the past 12 months, heres a few things Ive learnt to keep me on task and more balanced: 1. Getting showered and looking polished helps me feel good and in the mood to get things done. 2. Checking my calendar the night before helps me prepare for the following day so theres no surprises.... 3. Batch prepping a couple days worth of healthy meals for lunch and dinner takes out the added stress of not knowing what to cook on the spot or worse, eating something completely devoid of nutrients. 4. Wiping down my desk, keyboard and mouse; filing everything into its home - keeping my desk clear and organised takes a huge weight off my shoulders. When my space is clear, my head is clear and my productivity skyrockets. 5. Sticking to a routine keeps me on track including breaks for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. 6. Getting out of my chair and moving my body helps me stay creative and fills my cup. This is my time to walk around, go into the garden, get some sunshine, call my friend or family member, go play with my pets for a laugh - something non-work related. After a break, Im much more focused when I return to my desk. 7. Pay attention to your breathing and your posture. Is your breathing shallow or is it deep? Take deep breaths - youll know as your belly extends outwards; feel the air filling your lungs. Pause. Slowly breathe out. Keep your back and neck straight. Drop your shoulders and feel the tension break away. 8. When Im done for the day I shut down my computer as a signal to leave my work behind and dont touch it again until the next day.
