Only approximately 20% of your hair is in the active growing stage at any one time, which is why ... multiple treatments are required, usually 6 - 10 treatments are required with annual maintenance. . Hair needs to be shaved and level with he skin so all the light/heat energy can be directed to the hair follicle bulb and not wasted on hair above the skin.. also, if the hair is too long the IPL may burn your hair which in turn burns your skin. . Redness and an increased sensitivity of the skin around the mouth and eyes are symptoms for Perioral or Periocular dermatitis. The skin becomes more and more irritated partic...ularly after contact with certain foods, stressors, anxiety and skin care preparations, where inflammation may then appear in the form of tiny pimply like bumps. Frequently the dermatologist is already contacted at an early stage with the result that topical antibiotics such as metronidazole, minocycline, erythromycin or azelaic acid are prescribed when bacterial infections are suspected.
