24.01.2022 Its self care sunday! Albeit a bit late. Rubys asthma has been really bad tonight and shes only just gone to sleep properly. But Ive kept my word to myself to do an @ocosmedics oxygenating enzyme peel. My skin was looking a bit dull and the last time I did this I kept thinking for weeks after it my skin looked great and wondered why. Then I remembered the peel. So Im treating myself the way I would any client and now doing this at least once a month. Ive thrown a hair mask in while Im at it because well, why not?

16.01.2022 This year I promised myself I was going to start doing more for myself. I always preach about the importance of self care, but I really wasnt doing any of that for myself. Id been thinking I really needed to get back in to some physical activity, but those who know me best know I dont enjoy cardio. Thrashing myself isnt something Ive ever liked and Ive found the only way Ive ever been able to get into any condition is weight training. But even though I love weights, my... body needs a slow reawakening. Id been thinking yoga and or Pilates was what I needed. So when a new year special from @revive_yoga_wellness popped up on my feed I knew that was my sign and the time was now. Im three weeks in and although I was horrified at how bad I thought I was at something I used to find so easy, Im now getting back in to the swing of things. Im quite proud of myself for what Ive achieved so far. Not just physically, but actually committing to myself. So now when I tell you how important it is to take time for yourself I know Im no hypocrite! The take away I hope you get is this... find something you love to do and allow yourself the time to do it. It could be a walk a couple of times a week, reading that book, doing some yoga, having that facial youve been dying for, or getting your brows done as often as you like. Self care isnt selfish, its essential. See more

16.01.2022 The reputable salons I know have very high hygiene standards already. As do I. But we are all responsible for the health and safety of our clients and ourselves. So if youre not one of my clients, make sure the salon you attend is doing everything they can to ensure your safety. But theres also no reason not to take some of the responsibility in to your own hands. Call ahead if youre unsure. And maybe even bring your own mask, blanket and hand sanitizer just to be certain. I can assure you that this is not the end for @skin.and.within in fact Im using this time to reboot and come back bigger and better than ever. Im working on lots of things that I hope will be a great source of education, value and entertainment for you. Its taking me a little longer than I an...ticipated. But dont worry, your details will be safe with me. Ill not be passing any on to a third party unless Im advised a Client happens to test positive to the rona. Other than that its business as usual. 13.01.2022 Now that easter is over, its time to get back in to my usual way of eating. Its fine to indulge now and then. But as a general rule, you should always try to eat as many colours as you can in a meal. Not only does that make a healthy meal more visually appealing, but its a great way of packing in a variety of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Eating this way means you are less likely to need supplement support. 12.01.2022 Look at this glorious bowl of antioxidant goodness. One of the best things you can do for your skin during lockdown is to make sure you maintain eating a wide variety of fruits and veg. The more colorful your plate, the more vitamins and minerals you consume. These helps to detox and keep your skin clear as well as protect against oxidative damage (think about what happens to metal when its exposed to the elements. It oxidizes. Which we known as rusting). 07.01.2022 I feel like the fog of new mum life is finally lifting. If youve ever had a kid, you know what Im talking about. Ive decided 2020 is the year I get to create the business of my dreams. So Im taking a couple of days out to focus. I was inspired by @lexie.theordinarymum to put Ruby in an extra day of care so I can get stuff done. Im working on my goals over lunch using my Beauty Business Co #beautyboss planner. A meal has never felt so productive. Big things are happening for Skin & Within this year. Watch this space.

04.01.2022 All the happy feels!!!! Ive been waiting for our government to backflip like the NSW government did a couple of times. Things could still change. Especially if we see a spike in COVID cases. For the time being though its all systems go so book your appointment ASAP. Saturday is fully booked at this stage but I still have a few Sunday spots and all next week. I have disabled online booking for the time being though so please PM for appointments.
