25.01.2022 Yay, Skin Deep at Madurah Stretch Festival! Tired but proud!!! At least today is not rain + wind!!!

25.01.2022 Benefits of Olive Oil for Skin Adding olive oil to your beauty routine may provide immense benefits to your skin, hair, and nails. Here are some of the olive oil skin benefits you may find surprising. 1. Antioxidant Protection Olive oil contains three major antioxidants: vitamin E, polyphenols, and phytosterols. Antioxidants, when topically applied, may help protect the skin from premature skin aging. Vitamin E partly accounts for the anti-aging benefits of olive oil because ...it helps restore skin smoothness and protects against ultraviolet light. Hydroxytyrosol, a rather rare compound found in olive oil, also prevents free radical damage to the skin. 2. Doesnt Clog Pores Unlike commercial moisturizers that can clog pores and exacerbate current skin conditions, olive oil penetrates deeply into the skin while providing a cleansing effect. Try using organic olive oil at night as a substitute for your regular moisturizer. Apply a teaspoon of the oil to the face and neck. Gently pat the skin with a paper towel to wipe away any excess oil. 3. Enhances Exfoliation Another one of olive oils benefits for skin is its usefulness in exfoliating applications. A common exfoliating method using olive oil is to mix 1 tablespoon of the oil with natural sea salt, rubbing this mixture over the skin (or get me to do the hard work for you and buy one of Skin Deeps amazing sugar or salt scrubs). The mild abrasive qualities of the sea salt, combined with the deep, penetrating action of the oil, will remove dead skin cells and leave the epidermis looking renewed and glowing. 4. General Beauty Booster Olive oil is also used for nail and cuticle care, and many women use it as an eye makeup remover. Further applications include using it as an ingredient in homemade facial masks. One other interesting application for both men and women is the substitution of olive oil for shaving cream (I make and sell my own Close Shave olive oil cream its amazing!). Many men have abandoned shaving cream once they discovered how close a shave they can get with olive oil (my husband is certainly one of them!). Men and women alike have also found its refreshing qualities make it an excellent aftershave. A Final Thought Because of the many skin benefits olive oil provides, organic skin care products often use olive oil as a key, active ingredient. Olive oil creams, cosmetics, and body lotions are more popular than ever for self-administered skin care, because more people are finding that it works better than commercial moisturizers. Do you use olive oil in your skin care routine? What tips or suggestions do you have? Please share with us in the comments!

25.01.2022 Vanilla & Vanilla Essential Oil The health benefits of Vanilla Essential Oil can be attributed to its properties as an antioxidant, aphrodisiac, anticarcinogenic, febrifuge, antidepressant, sedative, tranquilizing and relaxing substance. If you always thought that the word Vanilla was the proprietary property of all those industries producing those mouth watering ice creams, chocolates, cakes, pastries, custards, biscuits, confections and soft drinks, and that there could n...Continue reading

24.01.2022 Heres some surprising news: Chocolate is good for your skin! Many of us grew up with the concept that chocolate causes blemishes. Instead, scientists now have discovered that chocolate can contain more antioxidants per cup than red wine or green tea. In fact, certain compounds in chocolate even help smooth the skin and decrease its sensitivity to the sun. Chocolate is good for your skin because of its high content of cocoa butter, which is a natural skin softener and condi...tioner. It is also an antioxidant, which means it prevents free radical damage to your skin and protects its natural elasticity. Dark chocolate seems to be much more effective than milk chocolate or white chocolate (which many argue is not really chocolate!). Chocolate is considered dark if it contains at least 35 percent cocoa. In skin care, chocolate, cocoa and cocoa butter are all excellent moisturizers. Chocolate also contains caffeine which can stimulate your circulation and give your skin a healthy glow when used in a massage cream or body scrub. The scent of chocolate releases serotonin, the same hormone that we experience when falling in love and for many people promotes happy feelings and reduces stress. So next time you have a craving for something sweet, enjoy a bit of chocolate with the bonus of better skin and a better mood!

23.01.2022 A little something for those who struggle to sleep, restless anxious mind...essential oils really are amazing. Pop on the soles of your feet, back of your neck and on your temples to help ease you to those zzzzzzs. Available in an oil rollerball or a spritzer. I love using this as part of my night time ritual!

22.01.2022 Health experts recommend taking a nice long soak of 30mins plus at least twice a week to benefit our bodies and minds. What better way to enjoy your downtime than a mineral rich detoxifying seaweed and clay sea salt and epsom mix. Pop it straight into the bath if you dont mind a few seaweed flakes, or into a bath bag to keep the bits contained! Indulge, relax, rewind :-)

22.01.2022 Wonderful gifts for anyone wanting to give something you cant get on the high street. I can make up gift boxes, flower pots, watering cans, tubs with any products I make...they can be personalised to suit the recipients likes! Give something a little different that will also benefit the body and mind.

21.01.2022 Order complete for my dear friend...some gorgeous bath time goodies for some serious down time. Coz us ladies deserve it ;-)

21.01.2022 If your friend sells Tupperware, try it! If your friend sells Isagenix, try it! If your friend sells Your Inspiration at Home, try it! If your friend sells Ja...mberry, try it! If your friend sells Intimo, try it! If your friend sells Younique, try it! If your friend sells Norwex, try it! If your friend sells Thermomixes, try it! If your friend sells Bodyshop, try it! If your friend sells Partylite, try it! Moral of the story if my friend owned a restaurant... Guess what, I would eat there! If a friend of mine owned a hair salon, I would go there! If one of my friends owned a gift shop, I would buy gifts from there. So the next time you are walking into Dusk, think about your friend who sells Party lite or Doterra and how she has a daughter to put through university . Next time you walk into Napoleon Perdis, think about that Younique invitation from a friend who has teenage sons and is trying to buy a bigger house because they are still sharing a bedroom. Next time you go to Bras n Things, think about your friend who sells Intimo and how she is a struggling single mum trying to pay her bills. Next time you go to a discount pharmacy to buy synthetic vitamins, think of your friend raising her family selling all natural amazing wholefood healthy supplements. At the end of the day these big corporations are going to give absolutely NOTHING back to you, but when you help a small business owner youre not only helping them but youre also helping put money back into our economy. #SupportYourFriends #SupportSmallBusiness

19.01.2022 Orange spice foot mask with cayenne, cinnamon, ground oatmeal and bentonite clay. Smells lovely, tootsies are nicely warm and the clay will help draw out impurities. Very nice!

18.01.2022 Why natural skin care Most of us use several skin and body care products on a daily basis. Up to 60% of what we put on our skin ends up being absorbed in the body and when the products we use are made from harmful artificial ingredients these place an unnecessary burden on the bodys detoxification processes and on the entire immune system, including the skin. Some chemicals remain stored in the body for several months or even years before they are completely eliminated. Harm...ful ingredients in cosmetics arent just a personal issue any more. Every product we use on our skin will eventually end up in soil and waterways, where it can further impact microorganisms and aquatic life. Natural ingredients are usually a much safer alternative, though we all need to bear in mind that plants can also trigger unwanted reactions in some people. Additionally, many ingredients labeled as natural or naturally-derived have undergone extensive chemical processing which can alter their nutritional profile and reduce their benefits to the skin. The most active, pure and beneficial cosmetic ingredients have undergone minimal processing (look for cold pressed extra virgin plant oils and steam-distilled essential oils) and come from organic or biodynamic plants. What to look for in skin and body care products Choosing cosmetic products might be an important decision, but theres no need to make it too complicated. There are two essential rules to keep in mind here: 1. Skin food think of skin and body care products as edible treats for the skin and take the same approach you would apply to your diet. Healthy food is made from fresh, minimally processed natural ingredients. If youre finding that you cant decipher the ingredients in your moisturiser without having to call a friend with a PhD in chemical science, chances are that your body might have trouble knowing what to do with it also. Beware of products with a very long shelf life: vegetable oils are at their best when they are fresh, and while vitamins and natural preservatives can be added to enhance the stability of the product, its best to buy only products that you know you are going to use within a few months. Choosing multi-functional products can also go a long way towards ensuring that you are getting the best value out of your products and minimising waste. 2. Simple is always best an excessively long ingredient list usually means that the product only contains minimal amounts of each ingredient: they might have great properties, but if only tiny quantities are present they are not going to work as well. Its best to stick with those products that can define their main uses and benefits with only a few ingredients.

17.01.2022 Busy busy busy....prepping for a 2 day stint at the Stretch Festival in Mandurah this Saturday and Sunday 10-4pm. Going to have to set up and pack up for each day....Im going to need a long soak in a herbal bath after all that!!! Its hard work doing these markets, people underestimate the work you put in, and the fact you are bearing your heart and soul to public scrutiny!!! So please, if you go to a market and the stall holder tries to make eye contact and say Hello....please show them the respect to make that effort too, we are not going to tie you down and force you to buy something!!! 17.01.2022 Continuing on with toxic chemicals found in our everyday cleaning products: QUARTERNARY AMMONIUM COMPOUNDS, OR QUATS Found in: Fabric softener liquids and sheets, most household cleaners labelled antibacterial. Health Risks: Quats are another type of antimicrobial, and thus pose the same problem as triclosan by helping breed antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Theyre also a skin irritant; one 10-year study of contact dermatitis found quats to be one of the leading causes. The...res evidence that even healthy people who are exposed to quats on a regular basis develop asthma as a result. Healthier Choice: You dont really need fabric softener or dryer sheets to soften clothes or get rid of static: Simple vinegar works just as well. Vinegar is the natural fabric softener of choice for many reasons - it is nontoxic, it also removes soap residue in the rinse cycle and helps to prevent static cling in the dryer. White vinegar is your best choice for general cleaning; other types can stain. Alternatives to chemical disinfectants abound, including antibacterial, antifungal tea-tree oil. Mix a few drops of tea-tree oil and a tablespoon of vinegar with water in a spray bottle for a safe, germ killing, all-purpose cleaner. Add a couple of drops of lavender essential oil for scent See more

15.01.2022 A few simple home remedies for dry skin you can try out for yourself using ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen!

15.01.2022 Detox Bath: Using Epsom Salt Epsom salt baths are a great way for you to detox your body and boost your immune system. They help you feel energized and rejuvenated from them because they rid the body of toxins that cause us to be tired and stressed. Taking a bath in Epsom salts allows our bodies to release any harmful substances weve come into contact with via food, our environment, etc. Our skin is our largest organ and our primary detox organ, which is why a detox bath is... so beneficial. You can use Epsom salt baths to cleanse your body if you are looking for an easy way to support your liver and help with die-off symptoms with; its a wonderful detox for your body. What Are Epsom Salts? Epsom salts are made from magnesium and sulfate, which are easily absorbed through our skin, which aids in detoxification. How Epsom Salt Baths Work An Epsom salt detox bath stimulates your lymph system and encourages increased oxygen and blood flow to our body. The sulfates in Epsom salts are essential for the formation of proteins lining the digestive tract; they also stimulate the pancreas to form digestive enzymes, which are necessary to detoxify our bodies. Soaking in Epsom salts boosts the bodys magnesium levels because it is easily absorbed-this helps our muscles relax and is why these baths are perfect right before bed. Please feel free to PM me if you would like an Epsom Bath Salt tailored to your personal preferences and requirements!

11.01.2022 Hi All! I am currently in the process of expanding my product line, which takes time in researching, finding recipes I like and can access the ingredients easily enough and figuring out packaging etc. Its quite a process, especially when you throw into the mix a tendency to OCD regarding keeping house, and a very active and demanding 6 year old!!! One of the recipes Im working on just know is a facial toner for normal to oily skin, using pink himalayan salt, apple cider v...Continue reading

11.01.2022 No one can avoid exposure to toxic chemicals altogether, but it is possible to reduce it significantly. Ill make a few posts on the worst toxic offenders commonly found in household cleaning products (as there are too many to put into one post!), and offer ways to swap them for healthier, safer options (as suggested by Experts on the matter!). 1. PHTHALATES Found in: Many fragranced household products, such as air fresheners, dish soap, even toilet paper. Because of propriet...ary laws, companies dont have to disclose whats in their scents, so you wont find phthalates on a label. If you see the word fragrance on a label, theres a good chance phthalates are present. Health Risks: Phthalates are known endocrine disruptors. Men with higher phthalate compounds in their blood had correspondingly reduced sperm counts, according to a 2003 study conducted by researchers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Harvard School of Public Health. Although exposure to phthalates mainly occurs through inhalation, it can also happen through skin contact with scented soaps, which is a significant problem, warns Alicia Stanton, MD, coauthor of Hormone Harmony (Healthy Life Library, 2009). Unlike the digestive system, the skin has no safeguards against toxins. Absorbed chemicals go straight to organs. Healthier Choice: When possible choose fragrance-free or all-natural organic products. Pass up on aerosol or plug-in air fresheners and instead using essential oils or simply opening windows to freshen the air. Besides causing more serious effects like endocrine disruption, as aerosol sprays and air fresheners can be migraine and asthma triggers. Also consider adding more plants to your home: Theyre natural air detoxifiers. See more

10.01.2022 Someones going to have a lovely home spa time! Sugar body scrub in delicious choc orange scent, and a selection of bath salt herbal bags. Because were worth it!!! ;-)

10.01.2022 Why wash your hands in a load of drying chemicals and synthetic fragrances when you can use something more natural and a lot kinder to your skin?! And to wash hands effectively, lather up and rub and rinse under warm water for AT LEAST 30seconds. The amount of people I see who give their hands a quick flick under cold water with no cleansing agent, and they think they have washed effectively!!!! Eugh!!! This foaming hand wash has castille, fractioned coconut oil and essential oils. Whilst more natural products dont foam as much (due to not having foaming chemicals), they cleanse in the same way. We need to remove ourselves from the idea that Foam=Clean!! This 250ml foaming wash is $9 and lasts for ages! Ive been using mine for about a month know, and I wash my hands A Lot!!! :-)

09.01.2022 I use Himalayan Pink Salt in many of my bath salts and body scrubs, it has amazing benefits when used in cooking and in skin care - and the colour is pretty gorgeous too!! I have just come out of the bath, feeling relaxed and ready for bed after using an Epsom, Himalayan Pink Salt, Bentonite Clay, Kelp and Dulse bath salt with essential oils. Although I am not good at soaking for too long! optimum time for soaking to absorb the minerals and for a good detox is 40 minutes - during which time you should try and drink plenty of water and read a good book!

07.01.2022 Epsom Salts Epsom salts (magnesium sulphate) baths focus on using the largest organ of detoxification, the skin, as a route to release toxins stored in our bodies. It has the effect of drawing toxicity and acidity towards it. This combined with a hot bath will thin the lymph; encourage blood to the surface of the skin, and the release of toxic wastes into the water creating more movement in a sluggish body. Magnesium is involved in over 300 essential processes in the body and... most of us are deficient in it. Sulfates are also essential for many of the bodys activities as well as flushing out toxins. The effect of the magnesium is very soothing and relaxing to body and mind, its a perfect thing to do before bedtime for a good nights sleep, if your feeling stressed or have sore tense muscles. Precautions: Do not take Epsom salts bath when pregnant, menstruating or if you have high blood pressure How to get the most out of your detox bath:- - Lie in the bath for up to 20 minutes. - Dont use any soap or other substance in the bath as it can diminish the effect. - When finished you can take a cold shower to further effect the lymph drainage. - Or quickly dry yourself and get into bed to stay warm and sweat out more toxins. - You may feel weak & tired after the bath but after a nights rest you should fee clear and refreshed. - A great way to use these baths as a detox is to take 1 a week for 3 weeks, take a week off then repeat.

06.01.2022 For those of you who love slathering on your most favourite Big Brand, gorgeous smelling perfume, please take the time to read this very interesting article. I stopped using all my favourite perfumes a couple of years ago - much to my sadness, because there were a few that I had grown really attached to and I had a huge stock of lovely, sweet smelling scents that all had memories attached to them! But now I have grown to love the natural scents of essential oils, and would never go back to buying anything that wasnt scented naturally. My personal favourites from my own line of Body Spritzes - Vanilla Isle, Brain Power, Anti-Anxiety and Lavender Lemonde. And an added bonus, they are a fraction of the cost of mass produced scents you find on the high street. http://articles.mercola.com///toxic-perfume-chemicals.aspx

06.01.2022 OLIVE OIL Homer once described olive oil as liquid gold, a term that still resonates with many. We all know that olive oil is one of the healthiest vegetable oils - not only can you consume this nutritious food and receive numerous benefits, you can also use it to boost the nutrient value of your beauty products. Benefits of Olive Oil for Skin Adding olive oil to your beauty routine may provide immense benefits to your skin, hair, and nails. 05.01.2022 Gorgeous smellies!!! The goodness of essential oils packaged up for you all pretty like!!! ;-) dont slather yourself in chemicals and synthetic fragrances...no matter how good they smell, they enter your bloodstream and may cause all sorts of problems! Essential Oils rock!!

03.01.2022 What are the benefits of Seaweed for the skin? To some people, seaweed is the disgusting clumps that wash up on beaches. But to others, it is a culinary delicacy thats a component of Asian dishes, including wakame, a salad made with seaweed, rice vinegar and soy. Homeopaths and people who seek natural remedies to ailments also use seaweed as part of skin care regimens. Rich in vitamins and minerals, it can be eaten or applied directly to the skin as a strengthening agent and... exfoliant. Acne Seaweeds natural, anti-inflammatory compounds can have a positive affect on acne explosions. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, acne is caused by release of sebum, or oils, which prevent the skin from drying. Pimples are inflammations of the skin pores, which trap the oil, resulting in blackheads or whiteheads, deeper pimples or cystic acne. Seaweeds anti-inflammatory effect reduces the swelling of the explosion. It is also can be used as a natural exfoliant to remove dead skin cells, which can block pores. Detoxifier and Thyroid Booster Spas have long used seaweed baths for cleansing and exfoliating qualities. Seaweed, when applied to the body, draws excess fluid and waste products from the skin. It also acts as a cleanser for dead skin cells and other impurities on the surface. Seaweed is also rich in iodine, which can help boost thyroid functions. The thyroid gland produces amino acids that absorb iodine, and it also produces a metabolism-regulating chemical in the bloodstream. This metabolism regulator also helps rejuvenate the skin. Rosacea Rosacea is a skin condition which causes facial inflammation, swelling and a red discoloration. Seaweed is rich in vitamin B-1, B-2, B-3, B-6 and B-12, a natural anti-inflammatory. This reduces the pooling of blood beneath the skin, alleviating the symptoms. Topical lotions and creams with seaweed can nourish the skin from the outside, causing a similar or dual effect. I will be trialling my Seaweed, Clay, Tea Tree and Vit C Face Mask I have made later today, and will post pictures. The only one downside of seaweed is - and theres no denying it! - its a bit smelly! But I guess we dont mind suffering a little for a bit of skin pampering!! If you would like a sample of my Seaweed Mask Powder, enough for one application, then please let me know! I will also be making a seaweed body scrub, so keep your eye on my page for that one!

03.01.2022 Lovely jubbly mask day!! Rhassoul, silica, Vit C, Ginger, Spirinula and Aloe Activator with a little Rosehip Oil to stop the clay drying out my skin too much. Feeling better already!!

03.01.2022 Ditch the chemicals and go natural!!! This absolutely divine all natural essential oil perfume smells amazing and has no chemicals, unlike commercial perfumes (which have been shown to disrupt hormones, amongst other things). I didnt do a bad job on the packaging either, if I might say so!!!!! ;-) This 250ml glass bottle is $24, please PM me if you would like to order. I shall be concocting some more amazing scents soon, when it comes to essential oil blending, the skys the limit!!

02.01.2022 So, I am trying out my kelp, silica, morrocan clay, nettle and Vitamin C mask powder with tea tree and aloe activator...not a pretty mask to look at or smell (my bathroom smells like a marine rescue centre!), but boy is it going to give my skin a load of TLC!! To get the best put of any face mask, you need to apply regularly twice a week, and exfoliate and steam for a minute or so beforehand. This will prep your skin for maximum benefits. After rinsing off, I will spritz with... rose water and leave my skin to breath for a few hours before applying my own face oil with aloe gel (aloe is one of the few ingredients that will actually go deeper into your skin rather than stay on the surface, hence it will carry with it what you add to it - but it has to be a good aloe from a reputable company, not just any old muck!!). Glad I made some time for Me today...will try and pop on a foot mask tonight if Ive time, and will be sure to post photos and benefits of that one. Thanks for reading! Dont forget to message me if youd like a sample of this mask powder! See more

01.01.2022 The Importance of Exfoliation Exfoliate your way to healthy, glowing skin. You may be cleansing, moisturising, and slathering on the sunscreenbut if youre not exfoliating, your skin isnt as healthy as it could be. What is Exfoliation? ... Exfoliation refers to the removal of the dead skin cells on the skins surface. Exfoliation can be performed mechanically, by using abrasive scrubs on the skin or chemically, by using scrubs that contain special kinds of acids that dissolve and remove the dead skin cells without scrubbing. Why is Exfoliation Important? As we age, the process of cell regeneration slows down. This means that the body is slower to shed skin cells and generate new ones. When old skin cells start to pile up on the surface of the skin, it can leave skin looking dull, rough, and dry. Furthermore, the build-up of dead skin cells can result in excess oil and clogged pores, leading to blemishes and acne. Proper exfoliation removes the barrier of dead skin cells clogging the skin and uncovers fresh new cells below. This opens the way for moisturizing products to penetrate more deeply into the skin, which makes them more effective. In short, a regular exfoliating routine will leave your skin looking fresh and healthy What is the Best Way to Exfoliate? The best type of exfoliation depends on your complexion and the health and sensitivity of your skin. If you have extremely sensitive skin or severe acne, you will want to choose an exfoliating product and method carefully. A professional esthetician can help you choose the method most appropriate for you. Most women use manual exfoliation on a regular basis (once a week) and reserve chemical exfoliation for more intermittent use. If you use a manual exfoliating scrub, be gentle with the scruba light touch is all you need to slough off the dead skin cells. Any more than that and youre likely to irritate your skin. If you choose chemical exfoliation, peels and masks that contain alpha or beta hydroxy acids provide a deep level of exfoliation. If you have sensitive skin, you may wish to look for more natural peels that contain fruit derived enzymes. Healthy, Shining Skin If you want healthy, glowing skin, regular exfoliation is a must. Limit your exfoliation routine to once a weekover-exfoliating can leave your skin dry, irritated, and damaged. Take good care of your skin and put your best face forward.
