25.01.2022 I know we are all feeling a bit down and claustrophobic. When we all get out of this I am going to be posting up a couple of rides for everyone to celebrate and join in! A road ride and an adventure ride. Possibly over nighters! Cant wait to get out there and go for a ride!

24.01.2022 No load up fail here. @francisvontuto

24.01.2022 Guess who can do motorcycle safety certificates now! Also able to do the mobile if need be. $54.40 if you bring the bike to me!

22.01.2022 Building the head for the first exchange DRZ440 Wide Ratio engine. Although getting parts in a timely fashion has been problematic lately I am hoping to have this motor built and in the first bike within a month and will hopefully have the next motor ready for exchange in late April early May I will continue to load updates on how the system will work but plan is to have a motor exchange system offering DRZ motors built to spec for exchange across the country.

21.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who came along for the ride today! It was a great time, cant wait to do it again.

21.01.2022 Servicing Membership! @josh__ridgway Service your bikes, learn new skills, hang out with legends and be part of something aw...esome! Skinnys Garage

20.01.2022 So since finally getting my CB on the road, I decided to enter it into the Pipe Burn Covid Bike Show just cause. There are some amazing bikes from all around the world in this comp definitely worth a look to see some amazing pieces of art https://www.pipeburn.com/bikeshow/?_categories=cafe

18.01.2022 Had an engine swap on the bench this week. Poor K50 came into a spot of bother and broke the engine block in a crash so found a replacement motor and put it in. Challenging job but great to see it all together!

18.01.2022 Just a couple of DRZs in today for various work. Spot your bike in the line up. Lol

17.01.2022 DRZ motor I did last week. The time lapse stopped half way through putting the motor back together.

16.01.2022 Awesome little 75 Honda XL100. I restored and rebuilt the motor a few months ago. Customer has put it in the frame, nearly all done and asked if I could time it and tune it and get it running nicely. Just listen

16.01.2022 Awesome to see Skinny's Garage tee shirts getting out in the wild! Thanks to @mrs_enfield_australia for sporting the shirt out on a ride! Looking good!

15.01.2022 It was this time a year ago I moved into Fortitude Valley. Taking a huge chance, moving into my first independent location, it was a make or break situation for me. 12 months later and still going strong it is clear it was the right decision.... Thanks to all my friends, customers and people who have supported me in this journey. It has not been easy, but it has all been worth it.

14.01.2022 Sometimes it is not the most technical or difficult jobs that are the most satisfying

14.01.2022 DRZ440E Wide Ratio Gear Box Exchange Motor Programme I am excited to announce the beginning of the DRZ400E motor exchange programme With over 10 year extensive experience with DRZ400 and over 15 wide ratio gear box motors out in the wild I am finally ready to offer this service to customers who are ready to rebuild or upgrade their DRZ but dont want to be ripped off by the dealer and are capable of pulling the motor in and out of the frame.... Every exchange motor has been fully stripped, assessed and wear and tear items replaced. Every motor has a new con-rod and main bearings, big bore 440 kit (new cylinder and piston), new cam chain and replacement ACT Wide Ratio gear box installed new oil filter and spark plug, valve clearances check and adjusted and rear to be bolted in ready to go. Any other parts that are found to be worn will be replaced case by case. To make it as easy as possible I have built a crate to transport the motor across the country to where-ever it needs to go. I will literally post you your new motor, you put your old motor in the crate, and I will arrange postage back. All I need is to be assured that the motor you are sending back was in good working order when you sent it. Lets face it, I will know when I strip the motor down. Your new exchange motor cost $3400 inc GST + Freight which is great value when you consider how much a full rebuild would cost else where without getting the advantage of the Wide Ratio Gear Box. All motors come with a 3 month and 6000km warranty. Anything goes wrong or spring an oil leak. Between the two of us, we will sort it out. I currently have one motor ready to be shipped today. Unfortunately, due to the COVID Crisis it is proving difficult to get parts so the next motor may be a month or so away yet. But please feel free to snap this one up and start the ball rolling! Any questions please message me, Anyone ready to go now let me know and we can quote up on shipping. Photos are of current motor ready to go. Keep in mind this is not new motor so expect a few marks here and there (hence the photos) But these are all motors I would have no problem sticking in to my bike and heading across the country!

12.01.2022 Had a great turn out for the last Skinny's ride! Lets see if we can't do the same this time! See you all Saturday!

11.01.2022 Getting close to being able to offer the drz400 motor exchange. If your drz has some km on it, maybe starting to use some oil and are thinking of giving it a freshen up and rebuild. Maybe think about exchanging for a fully rebuilt drz440 with the ACT wide ratio gearbox. All you need to do is pull your motor out and send it back. Still working on the final price but will have it all figured out in the next month.

11.01.2022 Fitting an Olivers cat delete onto a sweet sweet Thruxton. @oliversmotorcycles

10.01.2022 Not PC. But very funny. Throw back Thursday. https://www.facebook.com/blackcoffeeclub/videos/884893311585534/?sfnsn=mo&d=n&vh=e

10.01.2022 One DRZ motor done. One DRZ motor to go. Doing more and more rebuilds with the wide ratio gear box and big bore kits. ... "Worth the money" and "Wish I had done it years ago" are the two most common reactions. Feel free to drop me a line for a quote. We can ship and receive motors from all over the country. Cheers to Adventure Bike Australia for being the ACT importer for Australia.

09.01.2022 Cheeky little gearbox job on a K1200 in at the moment. I love cassette gearboxes. So rad being able to pull them out without pulling the whole engine apart. So race ready.

09.01.2022 Got an awesome present from EastonFabrication today. I set the challenge of a points cover for my Harley with my logo on it and he delivered! Looks amazing! Thanks guys! ... #eastonfabrication

07.01.2022 Always a diverse range of bikes in the workshop

07.01.2022 As you may know I have been sick the last few days and closed the workshop as a precaution due to the ongoing threat of COVID, and also to give me an opportunity to recover. I started feeling a bit sore in the throat on Tuesday and on Wednesday I developed a good nose run however still good energy, No fever, no real cough and any mucus was clear. On Thursday however I woke up feeling a bit sore, hot, had a chesty cough and my mucus had changed colour. ... It was at that point I made the decision to close the workshop until Monday, consult the doctor and be advised to get a COVID test. I went to the drive through COVID testing centre at Murarrie and I just received a NEGATIVE result. I am however still sick with a cold/flu and if anyone has been in contact with me in the previous week or so and develop flu like symptoms, I am sorry if you got it from me, but please call your doctor, go get checked and all will remain good in Queensland. It was really not hard to do the right thing, the workshop will still be remaining closed until Monday (to give me a good chance to recover) and I am sorry to those customers I have inconvenienced by closing, I will be in contact with you all on Monday to re-arrange bookings. A big thanks to QML Pathology for doing a huge job trying to get everyone tested and results back to people ASAP QML Pathology

02.01.2022 Always a good mix of bikes in here. This is what I love about being a knowledgeable and capable motorcycle mechanic. Not cutting myself short by only wanting to work on a certain type or brand of bike. ... I love it.

01.01.2022 My heart breaks and you get that sick feeling in your stomach everytime you hear this kind of news. RIP Paulo. Condolences to his family, friends, team and team mates. https://www.facebook.com/104027932989856/posts/2829133400479282/
