18.01.2022 This snippet of information has been posted before on my FB page but it is always a good reminder about the dangers of some ingredients .... READ ON and please share. DOES YOUR EYE PENCIL, EYE SHADOW OR MASCARA CONTAIN LEAD! If you buy make up on line (especially from overseas sites) just be careful that it does not contain kohl. It’s a traditional type of make up commonly used in South Asia, Middle East and parts of Africa to darken eyelashes and eyelids. It contains signifi...cant amount of lead. Many companies label their makeup with the term ‘kohl’ to describe the shade or colour but the product DOES NOT actually contain kohl. Kohl as an ingredient is generally not an issue with make up purchased in Australia though many use the term kolh for colour. It is just a potential issue if you buy on line from overseas from dodgy cheap sites. So before you make that internet purchase of eye shadow, eye liner or mascara just make sure, if the word kolh appears that it refers to the colour and not the ingredient as you may get more that you bargained for.

The ideal candidate won't: 1. be pregnant or breastfeeding;... 2. be under 18 or over 70 years of age; 3. be allergic to any ingredient in the product; 4. have a skin infection or skin cancer in the area to be treated; 5. have a severe illness or infection; or, 6. have a history of neuromuscular disease like MS or myasthenias gravis. ABC’s ‘War on Waste’ has brought it home to all of us that we as a human race need to think about our purchases of plastic everything. Don’t buy water in a plastic bottle at least buy glass bottles. We can all make a difference with little changes.

02.01.2022 Another re-post as I always think this clip is pretty amazing. Always look for a broadband SPF and preferalbly stick to a physical sunscreen like zinc/titanium dioxide with antioxidants. My favourite is always Osmosis Shade or Osmosis Protect. I am a big favourite of physical sunscreens over chemcial sunscreens, though a chemical sunscreen is better than nothing. :) Lyndal
