21.01.2022 If you’re thinking the only way to get results is to knock it to the ground and start again... challenge accepted! You wouldn’t bulldoze the Amazon rainforest so you could plant new trees in straight lines and start it all over again to make it ‘better’ (there’s nothing wrong with it!) Why do we think that our skin should be treated the same? ... I see so many products and treatments for skin resurfacing to improve things like redness, pigmentation, uneven texture, uneven tone, enlarged pores and everything else we hate our skin for being. But what if it just took some gentle nurturing and care of our skins eco system to support its natural state (which much like a rainforest, isn’t 100% perfectly uniform, so get used to it!!) Skin isn’t a redundant pile of cells that have become stagnant and dead that need to be removed. Our skin is an intelligent eco system full of life and function. Every single cell has its purpose. 08.01.2022 I had a new client suggest recently- that they would go and have one of those quick fixes that they saw on special down the road, then when their skin was a little better, they would come and start working with me. I said that would be like going on a crash diet (again) only to realise it’s unsustainable and would cost more in the long run than if you simply committed to a healthy lifestyle (or healthy skin habits) You might also impact your health in a ne...gative way by the yo-yo diet or the fad product. Like our health, good skin takes time. Expecting anything less is settling. I want your skin to be incredible. Healthy, glowing, radiant. Not just after a quickie fad treatment, but almost every day to be healthy and happy. And that takes time! Much like our health is the result of years (even decades) of self care or lack there of, Your skin is a culmination of years of minor infractions. It will take time to address, support and restore the functions involved. That way you can wake up to skin that’s consistent and less reactive in your day to day. If you’re falling for the promise of a quick fix or feel like you want to try all the internet promises first (just incase they work??) you’re settling for less because true skin rejuvenation and repair takes time and I want nothing but the best for you. In case you hadn’t noticed, I’m mad keen on skin, knowing everything about it, helping you navigate it and showing you how best to care for it gives me life. (pssst- it’s not as complicated as the beauty industry leads you to believe!) I live in Newcastle, NSW, Australia and 11 years ago I opened a skin focused, corneotherapy clinic, a space where you can come for skin rehab and get some hands on help with your skin. 03.01.2022 This throw back pic feels like it was from another lifetime! Here I was on a train heading to the airport to travel and share the skin saving love and get my hands on some very well known faces! In 2019 I was on a tram, a train, a plane, a bus, a ferry, a tuk tuk, travelling every single week. It was tiring but I LOVED it! I felt like I was doing what I was born for! Don’t get me wrong, I still do, erry day, day after day- but having t...he element of travelling and sharing my absolute love (ok... obsession) with skin is always a highlight for me!! I’ve got some REALLY exciting things coming up that I can’t wait to share with you- so there’s LOTS in the pipeline and I couldn’t do any of it if I was travelling so much. It just goes to show that there’s a season for everything! And this season for me is in planting deep roots to allow for even bigger and stronger branches that stretch even further and wider than I did last year (season). I hope that even though you might be feeling trapped, stagnant, directionless... that it’s all ok. That this season isn’t about world domination but about bringing the focus back home.
