24.01.2022 As were now coming into our Winter Flu season, ensure you are topping up your Diet with Zinc, Vitamin D and Vitamin C. Echinacea, B6 and Magnesium are also amazing at helping ward off Illness and boosting your Immune system. Google the food groups where you can find these and perhaps take extra supplements during Winter. Add a Hot water, juice of a full Lemon and Manuka Honey drink each day.... When using alcohol-based Hand Sanitizer, choose one thats between 60 to 95% alcohol. These products usually contain ethyl alcohol (ethanol) and isopropyl alcohol. Antibacterial products prevent the development of bacteria but Antimicrobial alcohol-based Hand Sanitizers, prevent the spread of bacteria, fungi, and some viruses. Ive relocated to 315 Main st, into the lovely, shared premises at MomentumHealth. Ive chosen to downsize my Clinics, Website & life in general . I think Covid lockdown has played a role for everyone in reevaluating their lives to some degree. I returned to work last month, after 3 months in lockdown, to an initial rush of clients desperate to get done !... I now have to run my Clinics by Appointment only. With my pre-appointment screening, I need to obtain your details & take your temperature for Government records. This is a safety measure to protect both you and our Clinic. This information is destroyed after 28 days. You all know the drill about not attending if youre unwell etc. I also allow a further 15 minute gap between clients for the extra sanitation steps, to comply with strict infection prevention guidelines as set out by the Australian Government Health Departments. You can wait in your Car until the allotted appointment time if youd prefer. We have a beautiful, clean and compliant waiting area for you too. 13.01.2022 Its taken me hours to come to terms with this... It appears that even though Regional Victoria has complied with all the Covid protocols in place and weve remained optomistic for our businesses to reopen, were to remain in basically Stage 3 ( now referred to as the 2nd of 4 steps ) restrictions. We MAY be allowed to reopen late November IF we get to O cases within 14 days across Victoria...who knows if this is achievable ? Id be a little more optimistic if we were includ...ed in step 3. The Beauty industry as a whole and in particular, has been dealt with harshly. Another huge blow for Sole Traders too... Im very sad tonight. Not only for myself and fellow business owners, many of whom just wont survive this endless lockdown but Im sad for all of you... The only way we might get change in our Region is if we all bombard the Premiers office, both our local and state MPs, with emails expressing our disbelief and bewilderment as to why Hairdressers can remain open but we cant access our other Personal needs in a safe environment ( like we were already doing). 02.01.2022 Some seriously good advice.... Extend your Treatments to your Neck, Decollatage and Hands. These are the areas that receive the most exposure, along with your Face. A correctly prescribed Serum, SPF and Moisturiser can definitely contribute to a younger, less pigmented, irritated and wrinkled Skin. As youve probably already discovered, not all products are created equal...... Despite what youve been led to believe from big marketing manufacturers and unqualified people, well educated Advanced or Graduate Diploma level Dermal and most Diploma qualified Beauty Therapists, understand how the Skin receives & delivers certain active ingredients and can explain to you how they are delivered and what is happening within the Skin. This is because they are taught about the chemical composition and physical actions of cosmetic products (think square peg-round hole)and study Skin Biology & Physiology. Along with Infection control and how to apply safe hygiene, health and work practices in this current environment, its important to remember that these people have invested big dollars in their education and some, many years of ongoing study, to prescribe a successful treatment plan for your Home regime and in clinic treatment. We are very advanced nowadays, with our equipment used to facilitate skin corrections. The danger is, that anyone can buy a machine or product, do a quick course (even a Weekend one )and open a business. Sad for our Industry.
