25.01.2022 SCA Election of Directors - 2020 ballot papers have recently been posted to SCA 2019-2020 members for voting. Keep an eye out for the 2nd version to arrive, as per the SCA recent advice.

21.01.2022 FYI: Skipton Campdraft Club AGM 2020 is postponed until later in the year. Will provide a date when COVID restrictions allows us to proceed.

21.01.2022 Skipton Campdraft Club Life Member, David Murphy has nominated for a 2020 SCA Director position. I have nominated for a position of director of the SCA for many reasons including but not limited to, -To be a voice for the members in order for our association to continue to grow. -Be a part of creating a strategy for the return of campdrafting post covid19.... -Pro actively involved myself on the board and not just be a silent number. -Implement new ideas to reduce the problems around the dreaded waiting list saga for both competitors and clubs (especially secretaries) From 2010-2014 I represented the SCA as a director and helped implement and maintain many great initiatives for the association. With the highlight being a co-founder/organiser of the first 4 youth camps. This time around however the successful return of campdrafting is going to be challenging and will have to be monitored day by day. There are many different maps, but none are referenced in the advice. In response, please apply common sense to your events, so that only "local" riders attend. See more

01.01.2022 Skipton Campdraft Club President, Gavin Hudson has nominated for a 2020 SCA Director position. Born in Far Western NSW, Gavin Hudson started drafting as a youngster, with a strong involvement in quality bred horses being a part of life. Draft weekends were not only about competing but gave an opportunity to interact with fellow cattlemen and families. His passion for horses has developed into 25 years of breeding knowledge, and continuing the family stud Mount Kew Quarter Ho...rses, with his children becoming third generation campdrafters. Joining the South West zones Skipton & District Campdraft Club in 2005, he proudly accepted the nomination of Club Vice President in 2015, and in 2018 became the Club President. The Committee has overseen the growth of the Club member base, improved its facility, increased community involvement and developed a 5-year plan for the Club. As lead organiser of drafting clinics for the Club, Gavin has engaged internal and external instructors, promoting and encouraging safe techniques in drafting and providing an avenue for all levels of riders to gain knowledge and improve their horsemanship. Currently managing a Victorian-wide service business, Gavin oversees the day to day operations, mentoring and managing employees, instigating and constantly improving procedures, setting goals and aspirations. In nominating to become a Committee member of the SCA, and given the skills and knowledge of business, Gavin believes he can add-value to improving the operation and growth of our beloved sport. He’s approachable and always willing to have a yarn, to solve issues and make suggestions, and provide relevant information where he can, if not, seeking answers from his wider network. As our sport grows, he believes we all need to grow with it, to encourage our youth and newcomers, and to keep our members informed and actively involved, as well as provide a platform for our champions to excel. If elected, Gavin looks forward to working with SCA members and the Board for the betterment of our sport and the vast range of competitors and volunteers who are involved. See more

01.01.2022 ******COVID 19 UPDATE****** The NSW Chief Health Officer has issued a directive regarding an update of measures required to reduce the risk of community sport C...OVID-19 transmissions. The risk mitigation strategies now include: Cease of activity that results in the mixing of participants from different regions Cease any activities that involve overnight stays Cease of social sporting related activities such as presentations / group dinners & Minimisation of spectators at local activities to one parent where a child requires supervision during an activity. The SCA supports these directives in order to assist the Government to achieve optimal health outcomes and ensure the future continuation of our activities. Effective immediately and until further notice, the SCA will be suspending NSW activities that involve: Gathering of participants from different regions Overnight stays Activities such as presentations / group dinners & Attendance of more than one parent for Junior competitors. Committees wishing to host localised day activities within their Local Government Areas / Shire must comply with Regulations and SCA CovidSafe protocols.
