03.01.2022 QKA State Titles have been deferred.
02.01.2022 Deferred Queensland State Titles - Entries have been Re-Opened As previously advised, the dates for the deferred Queensland State Titles to be held at the Cleve...land State High School Paul Bancroft Centre are Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November, 2020 The QKA is holding in trust entry fees for the majority of people who entered for the original March date. We have however processed a small number of entry refund requests. We will be reopening entries on Thursday 15 October to give those people (and others) an opportunity to resubmit an entry should they wish. Athletes/Dojos who entered leading up to March and who have NOT requested a refund do NOT need to enter again. Your previous entries and entry fee will be applied to this tournament. You will be automatically entered into the draws for your chosen event(s). Athletes/Dojos who entered during March and who requested a refund will need to re-enter. Athletes who did not previously enter and wish to compete can also enter now. Entries close Friday October 30, 5:00pm. The new age cut off date for this tournament has been advanced to Friday 13 November. Once new entries are complete, we will contact Dojos and athletes that previously entered who may be age group affected by the date change. A link to the re-opened entry form is available here: https://www.schoolskarate.com.au Alternatively, go the the QKA website recent news section for the link. QKA COVID Safety Plan The QKA Covid 19 Safety Plan will inform and underpin the conduct of the State Titles. A detailed Event Covid Safe Run Plan will be published prior to the Tournament. However, we can advise that to facilitate physical distancing, the Tournament will be segmented into Saturday and Sunday morning and afternoon Sessions. Kata and kumite events for nominated age groupings will be allocated to one particular Session. The allocation of age groups to a session will be finalised once entries have closed. Only those competitors and their supporters allocated to compete in a Session will be allowed access to the venue including the warm areas and other facilities in use for the competition during that Session. Regards, Alan Key QKA President
01.01.2022 Wishing everyone a merry Christmas, enjoy the festive season and the time spend with your love ones.
01.01.2022 Given the current situation surrounding Coronavirus and the various press releases from Federal Government. The SKIQ Executive have decided to postpone CQ Open Championships. We understand this may be disappointing to many athletes however we must consider the health and well-being of our karate community foremost.
