24.01.2022 BEWARE THE $45 DOLLAR CALL OUT SCAM! When you’re locked out in the middle of the night and desperately need to get inside you’re vulnerable. So you punch in 24hr locksmith into your phone......you will then be flooded with google advertising of just $45! And call out from $55! This is an extortion scam that has plagued our industry for years that take advantage of people when they are desperate.... These people are not qualified locksmiths, they will damage your door, MAY or MAY NOT even get you inside and then demand hundreds of dollars more then they quoted on the phone (I’ve personally heard $600 dollars to open a standard door knob ). Their ABN’s are fake and contact number’is based in Canada. To make a long story short. Nobody that knows what their doing is going to charge you fifty bucks to get out of bed at 2 in the morning to let you inside. 10.01.2022 This year leading up to the Christmas holidays there has been a very significant spike in break ins in Brisbane. Unfortunately it’s a recurring pattern that in times of economic uncertainty these trends tend to appear. A base level of home security is really important in preventing these crimes happening to you. I don’t recommend to customers to spend $5000 on SUPER high security locks and doors but if you have a base level of security on the entry points of your house your c...hances are massively increased that they will target somewhere else rather then break a door down. These people for the most part are quick opportunists that want to get in and out with minimal fuss and noise. DONT MAKE IT EASY FOR THEM. Security works in layers and good locks are the first step, 100% of the time. Alarms and Cameras are a great addition to home security but without good locks are not very effective. I have never worked at a jewellery store or a bank where they have a high end alarm system with $10 locks on the door. It just doesn’t happen.
