18.01.2022 Being dive fit and mentally "in the game" will always be a necessary part of diving at every level.

15.01.2022 Why do we do what we do? Why do we as tec divers go through the rigorous regimes of training to visit depths, caves and chasms beyond the norm? What drives us or beckons us to refine skills, perfect posture, master equipment and prove ourselves in such alien and hostile environments? Do we crave challenge? Do we seek an ultimate experience? Is tec diving pure mechanical mastery? The why is important as we journey the tec path. What is the connection between the tekkie and liq...uid space? What is the relationship with ourselves and the abundant rivers, lakes and oceans? How are our minds and souls drawn to ponder and fathom coordinated diving adventures? Is it spiritual in nature? It's a compelling set of questions that storm the hearts of serious technical divers. For myself there are four areas of consideration. 1. Mechanical; the mastery of equipment and motion 2. Biological; the comprehension of our own human system in water with depth, time and function 3. Psychological; the ability to think clearly and logically and convert thought to action fluidly in context 4. Spiritually; Knowing ourselves and our reasons for engaging within a team to perform technical dives. This is by no means exhaustive, nor am i claiming guru status of any sorts. I as a human being seek purpose in the realm of diving. So my aims are to explore and possibly discover the heart and soul of technical diving. My tekkie friends please comment or share views you feel appropriate to this post and thank you for your input and wisdom. Together we have an abundance of great treasures. Yours in diving SS :) See more
