18.01.2022 Hello, good morning, and WELCOME to a day that we’ve been wondering for some time would ever really come! It feels a lot like Christmas, as all our competitive athletes have craved this year has been the chance to pull on their glamorous new uniforms, crank their amazing beats, and bust out the routines that they have been working tirelessly at - both in the gym and in their homes/backyards through lockdown! And now, that time has finally come. We are immeasurably proud ...of each and every one of our competitive athletes and the resilience and adaptability they have shown this year. It is no small feat to have comp-ready teams in a year like this one, and it is a testament to the commitment and work ethic of our girls, our staff, and the Teal Entourage around them. It is also a testament to their collective passion for this sport, which is the most important ingredient for any successful athlete!! To our girls competing today: go out there and enjoy every minute. Soak it all in! You have worked so hard for so long and today is your day to bask in all of the joy and infectious good energy that competition day brings. It is remarkably easy to forget that even though it is almost October, today STILL only marks the first step along the path of your 2020 season, and there is plenty more growth yet along that journey to Nationals. 09.01.2022 Wow. We’re still in recovery-mode from what an epic and exciting day it was yesterday, repping the teal at our first ever in-person competition!! We had the most amazing time and are soooo proud of all of our gorgeous Skybound girls who shone out on the competition floor. Here are some photos of Session 4, when both Celestial and Empyrean took to the floor! Even with a teammate standing out for most of the routine with an injury, Celestial still managed to put out the bes...t routine they have done thus far, bringing in a THIRD place in a very competitive division of 7 teams!! Empyrean followed up soon after, demonstrating true resilience and a solid fight after what has been a tumultuous couple of weeks for them, also bringing home a third place! 09.01.2022 We LOVE our gym location, and being only about a 60-second drive from Titanium Arena, it made for an easy-breezy competition day yesterday! All of our girls were able to enjoy hassle-free wristband distribution and get ready together in the comfort of our home-away-from-home, before venturing over to the competition. Best part though... With COVID and restrictions on spectators at the event, our big girls weren’t able to be in the venue to cheer on our little girls ear...lier in the day. So we coordinated for our staff to Facetime one another (one at the venue, and one in the gym), and stream it through our TV, so that all of Celestial and Empyrean could still watch Sunshine live and cheer them on from less than a kilometre away. Open to Skybound and non-Skybound members alike, these clinics will focus on building up tumble skills in a range of levels, with our friendly and qualified coaches! Please note that you MUST be proficient in the skills of the clinic prior to the one you wish to enrol in (i.e., if you are unable to do both your forward and backward walkover, you should not enrol into the Level 2 class; similarly, if you have your rolls, hand...stands, and cartwheels but cannot yet walkover, you should enrol into the Level 1 Advanced class). 01.01.2022 Rise and shine, it’s competition time (sort of)! Unfortunately due to the COVID situation in SA and the gym’s second closure, our teams have been unable to compete live today as planned. Instead, videos from their previous competitions have been submitted. We’re sad for our girls that they weren’t able to show the hard work they were yet to put into their routines between their last competiton and now (especially Celestial, whose last event was in October and had put in a phenomenal amount of work towards Nationals already) - but we are grateful that AASCF has been able to make it possible for them to still be involved!
