19.01.2022 Indulge me: my turn to give my two cents on what was and what will be. Part two - A home is everything Coincidentally just as COVID-19 hit Australia my husband and I packed up all our belongings and moved to the Blue Mountains (located an hour and a half west of Sydney, Australia). It is a beautiful part of the plant and together we embarked on the very exciting project of building a contemporary mountain home. My very generous mother-in-law allowed us to fill her garage wi...th our stuff and let us stay in the spare room (which prior to Covid was an Airbnb room) so we were (are) very comfortable and in a stunning location by the lake in Wentworth Falls. But It is hard to not have your own home as a grown woman, especially when health was an issue, and the world was in a very strange and intense place and many of the people around you were struggling and falling apart. Also if you’ve ever watched an episode of grand designs you will know that building is a somewhat stressful endeavor LOL. Fortunately there were only some weather delays and we have a great builder who has under him a great team so I’m sure it could’ve been a lot worse. Also getting to flex your own design sense and sensibilities is quite awesome and for an artist it really is the ultimate project. The home is not finished yet but we will be in by March 2021 (hopefully sooner). 09.01.2022 Indulge me: my turn to give my two cents on what was and what will be. Part three - The next episode Looking ahead in vulnerable times can be a great antidote to the doldrums so I have been doing a lot of mental strategizing. A while ago I started a kick ass YouTube channel that was then sadly neglected due to health issues (I couldn’t breath: read part one). My videos have been viewed over 80,000 times and I have some very patient subscribers waiting for the next tantalizi...ng installment of weaving and other tutorials. In 2021 I will be bringing some fresh energy to this platform and I am going to attempt to up my presentation game from videos on a badly angled iPad to something more profesh. Also I’m experimenting and playing and discovering new ways of expressing myself creativity so I’m gonna plunge headlong into that too. And then this was added to the mix: cousins ..... a secret family... were discovered..... hidden by the universe for so long and unearthed just as lockdown hit struck a cruel blow to all, so a much anticipated family reunion has not happened yet.... that’s gonna be a 2021 event for sure. 2021 says don’t be fooled my friends..... next year will still be a challenge to our ideas of what ‘normal’ is and I don’t think we will really know our new ways of living until 2022..... it is a great and very unique time to take a moment to ask yourselves are you on the right path? Is this way of living working for you? Are you chill? I am feeling you babes. I feel your pain and your joy. I feel your struggles and your distress. Gestation and birth is a process and sometimes it gives us a bundle of joy and sometimes it does not. Either way we get through it. Let the healing continue.
