Organizing materials to the site Enforces existing methods and procedures relative to construction, maintenance and repair activities. Operates, cleans and maintains all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers and electrostatic sprayers, pumps, etc. Safely stores and labels all materials. Washes, scrapes, sands, torches, and/or smoothes interior and exterior surfaces prior to painting, varnishing, lacquering or applying other related materials Installs, repairs, and maintains drywall, wall texturing, and ceiling acoustic texturing Maintains existing paint surfaces through matching and tinting of appropriate paint products. Offers assistance and advice on materials, designs, and colours Applies paints, stains, surface preparatory materials, and undercoating materials to a variety of surfaces Erects various types of scaffolding, staging, ladders, and planks to reach surfaces of work area for Painters and others. Critical Skills and Attributes Good negotiating skills Ability to differentiate between the need to use rollers, brushes or spray paints in accordance to the needs of the project Creative skills aimed at using texturing tools to make designs and textures on walls and roofs Deep understanding of using different types of paints and tools for interior and exterior of houses Physical dexterity targeted at handling painting work that requires strength and agility such as climbing ladders and good sense of balance Excellent time and management skills; Problem-solving skills; Basic computer skills Excellent communication skills Relevant Trade or Engineering qualifications Current white / Blue Card Current WA Drivers License Knowledge and experience At least 3 years experience Experience of managing staff Experience of dealing with contractors Ability to read & interpret technical drawings& plans Working conditions Conditions include restricted movement; air contamination, dirty environment, hazardous materials, lifting or carrying heavy objects.
