25.01.2022 A few weeks ago after again pushing SLASH beyond the suggested usage I had to visit my mates at JTP Machinery. Rather than a lengthy wait ordering a replacement part and being out of auction for a week James Peel decided to prove once and for all he's the better welder/machiner at JTP. Managed to weld, machine and fit a clutch cover in a couple of hours (including his lunch break). It cost me a few dollars and another carton of beer (or was it Midori, nah no man drinks that) and I was back to business! Great work JTP Machinery and James Peel

19.01.2022 Suspension of Rural Site Slashing - Bush Fire Danger Following advice from Rural Bushfire Authorities and in the interests of public safety I have decided to suspend all Rural site slashing work until the 1st February. After recent rains, significant fuel growth in the paddocks has raised serious concerns of grass fire. Extreme weather and dry winds have created an unsafe environment for use of heavy equipment in grassed areas.... I apologise for any inconvenience, however I am sure you all understand that I don't want to be the guy that sets fire to you property, LET ALONE HAVE TO EXPLAIN TO MY PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURERS HOW I MANAGED TO BURN DOWN YOUR HOME. 18.01.2022 Who'd have though only a few months ago a paddock covered in love grass 1.5m tall could have come so far. One more slash and 5 acres of inhospitable river flats will have been turned into 5 acres of possibilities!

01.01.2022 Another Awesome work experience today. As I nosed "Slash" into my second job for the afternoon at around 5.00pm I got a waft of the most amazing roast dinner being cooked. Looking up I saw a smiling neighbor looking over the fence as I started clearing the jungle menace that was obviously creeping under the fence to their annoyance. Always keen for a chat I stopped the tractor and said "G'day". We chatted for a few minutes before I asked if that amazing smell was coming fro...m their place? "Yep, she's a good cook my wife, looks after me!" I responded with "Lucky Bastard", lit myself a smoke and continued to push through the kikuyu and weeds happy in the knowledge that I was making his life a little easier by keeping the neighboring weeds at bay. As I came close to finishing the job I again see the friendly neighbor, this time walking around the fence line towards me. In his hands a napkin piled with the most amazing roast meat you've ever tasted. "Straight off the bone" he says "wife recons you deserved the best bits, Lucky Bastard!" That's what this job is all about!!!
