24.01.2022 It feels like it has been a year - oh wait, it has been a year - but slashCoffee is now operating. Open from 6am to 10am, Monday to Friday. $3 coffees. Proudly operating as a joint venture between Halo Nation Training, slashCoffee and the Palm Beach Scouts, this education training facility provides hands on experience for local youth, young people involved in Scouting and other locals in a truly community based activity. Started as a fundraising proposal by Palm Beach Scouts, this venture will help to pay for youth members who could really benefit from Scouting, but may not be able to afford it.

21.01.2022 Best wishes and safe travels to the Palm Beach State School Grade 6ers who are off to their Leadership Camp at Lennox Heads today (for a week). Special best wishes to Aidan and Catherine from the Palm Beach Scout Group who are on the trip.

21.01.2022 Celebrate the small things - first coffee sold at slashcoffee today.Great feedback - always good news. Plus, a chance to chat to the locals; and, barista training for young people (from age 14) that can result in a Cert II or Cert III in Hospitality - and done part time or on weekends.

15.01.2022 Still sorting out some supplies and setup issues. Not open yet, but certainly getting closer! Processing our first enquiries for Cert II in Hospitality, and finalising training resources for both Cert II and Cert III and our new Barista Basics courses.

14.01.2022 Don't forget to visit slashCoffee, possibly the only permanent Scout Group fundraiser operating in the country. Our friends at Chefs on the Run are paying for your first cup of coffee. Come along and give us a try. You won't be disappointed!! Thanks again to Chris and Steve for supporting the Palm Beach Scout Group.

12.01.2022 First the new logos are finally starting to roll out. New banners have arrived - now we just need to work out where to put them. The coffee machine and grinder have been commissioned and are working very well. We have done out first live-fire test at the Palm Beach Scout Group group dinner last weekend with about 30 guests and a stack of youth helpers enjoying coffee and hot Mars Bars (chocolate and caramel). Still have some setting up of the training site to sort out (storage, etc), but we are getting closer to a start on Monday.

12.01.2022 Grab a hot chocolate on the way to school, or before work. Better yet, add caramel and have a hot Mars Bar.

Operated through Halo Nation Training #HaloNT, this is a hands-on training course covering the basics of cafe operation, including ordering, stock control, customer service, cash handling (and cash reconciliation) and barista training.
