21.01.2022 http:// MACMASTERS BEACH HOUSE // We were tasked with designing a home connected with its surrounds in a functional, natural, and non-intrusive way. The pavilion style home with opposing living and bedroom wings is connected by a central foyer and large picture window framing the beautiful angophora trees. The split-level design follows the natural topography of the gently sloping site, and the skillion roof forms with raked ceilings accentuate the internal volume and allow natural light to wash over the space. 17.01.2022 http:// WAMBERAL MIXED-USE // This site has served the local community for decades. Cathy Slater herself enjoyed burgers and milkshakes at this spot when it was a milk bar back in the 70s, so to be commissioned with the redevelopment was an honour for Slater Architects. The goal for our clients was to replace the rundown building with a new contemporary café and two apartments which would take advantage of the water views toward Wamberal Beach. The building incorporates a basement carpark, a modern café, and both one-bedroom and two-bedroom units with lift access. The design integrates natural elements of stone and timber along with large expanses of glass to wash the interior spaces with natural light.

16.01.2022 The client of our Pacific House wanted to add a new master bedroom with a private balcony and views over the beach, however the existing cottage at this beachfront site was forward of the coastal erosion line. Click on the link below to read how we came up with a solution which allowed us to achieve the desired result for our client. #PacificHouse #SlaterArchitects #CoastalRenovation

12.01.2022 http:// PACIFIC HOUSE // The brief for this beachfront renovation was to transform the existing weatherboard cottage and add a new pavilion, converting it into a modern light-filled coastal home that maximised the beach vistas. High ceilings and large expanses of glass wash the interior spaces with natural light, provide ventilation and capture the stunning views. White weatherboards, recycled timbers and sandstone materials tie in with the natural beach environment and encompass the coastal theme. #SlaterArchitects

12.01.2022 http:// CASTLE HILL HOUSE // The design of this pavilion style, split-level home follows the contour of the sloping site, maintaining privacy for the owners while maximising the elevated bush views. A generous open plan living area with sleek kitchen, custom wine cellar and sunken lounge with a fireplace all overlook the view and outdoor entertaining area. High ceilings and the sunken lounge area with black picture frame windows exaggerate the space and wash the area with natural light. The outdoor space designed for entertaining incorporates a fire pit and wet-edge swimming pool overlooking the view, while an additional covered west-facing balcony with fully-equipped outdoor kitchen provide a protected entertaining space and solid timber posts frame the sunset views. #SlaterArchitects
