25.01.2022 We are very sorry not to be able to share this wonderful historic site with you during this crazy Covid time. We wish you all the strength you need to get through this. All we can do is be there for each other in ways that don’t put our communities at risk. Hospitality has been one of the vehicles we have used to raise funds to develop the homestead as a living museum to enable the community to preserve this little slice of our state’s history. A little challenge for you ...from us is to post a pic or video of morning or afternoon tea on the slater homestead page, maybe include your experience at the homestead. Many thanks. See more

24.01.2022 Due to the current COVID 19 Pandemic and the restrictions imposed by the Commonwealth, State and Local Government, the Slater Homestead Precinct will be closed to the public until further notice. We thank you for your understanding and look forward to welcoming you back when all restrictions have been lifted. Stay well and take care. Slater Homestead Group.

18.01.2022 Art class in the early days of the Homestead renovation. Did you continue with your water colour painting Louise? Wendy and I managed a very nice banana and a Homestead brick. The girls provided a great drumming performance.

17.01.2022 Looking at the landscaping photos I thought it was worth a now and then shot, hope you enjoy! Approx 2014/15 to 2019.

12.01.2022 Morning tea for caravan club. How welcoming and refreshing the landscaping is, especially in the heat of November. It’s almost impossible to remember the ruins this precinct was in the year 2000. Our very first function was after the premises was at lockup stage in 2004. The Slater Homestead Volunteers thank all the patrons who have helped us achieve this unique Goomalling hospitality product.

09.01.2022 All set up for tonight’s function. Looking forward to our guests enjoying their evening.

09.01.2022 Due to low response the menu has been modified slightly and cost reduced accordingly. There is only a small window of opportunity to partake of this offer so call the girls ASAP.

04.01.2022 Thinking about your Christmas wind up? Wendy and Lyn look forward to hearing from you to assist with planning your function at Slater Homestead. Any groups who have enjoyed previous Christmas or other events at the Homestead are invited to comment. We thank you for helping to promote this volunteer organisation.

04.01.2022 Daphne Schell I (Andrea) happened to be sitting behind someone I thought looked familiar at the farewell to Doris. During interval I scanned my brain and came up with Bernard Carney, it was him and Elenor sitting in front of us. Bernard waxed lyrical about you as a/the mover shaker of our little town (I, Andrea totally agree.) Apparently he is in wongan hills next week. Lovely man and very talented check it out
