16.05.2022 A dilemma every parent has had at least once... It has been a hard day, baby hasn't been napping well, maybe they are starting to drop a nap. It's 5:30pm and you say to yourself, it is too late for a nap but it's not quite bedtime yet. Here are some things to consider : A late nap, even if it is short, which pushes bedtime 30-45 minutes past it's usual time, can make bedtime and the night a struggle. So work out your timing before attempting this option.... Awake windows can be slightly longer at the end of the day to reach a more suitable early bedtime and avoid a late nap. If your child has not reached their normal amount of day sleep, then don't think of it as an early bedtime but more they will be catching up on lost sleep. An earlier bedtime is the preferred option, you can bring bedtime forward an hour if needed. #babysleeptips #babysleep #naptransition

18.04.2022 If your child is quite young, even when sleep training, you might run into a sticky situation where your child - who previously always slept on their back- begins to roll over in the cot Why? If bub is able to roll onto their stomach, but has not yet figured out how to roll onto their back again, they might wake up in an uncomfortable position and start crying out for help. ... How to respond For a few weeks, you will likely need to go to your baby when this happens and help them roll onto their back. During this time, watch for signs that your baby is learning to roll over in both directions. Once you are confident that your child knows how to flip onto their back, you can start letting them do it for themselves when they wake in the middle of the night. How to practise To get through this little sleep disturbance, the best thing to do is practise, practise and more practise. Several times a day if possible, lay baby down on a blanket and pull the blanket to gently help them roll both ways for a few minutes. After 1-2 weeks you should see an improvement See more

07.04.2022 If you have a newborn baby, you’ve probably noticed it does a lot of eating and sleeping, and very little of anything else! It is very important for you to allow your newborn to do as much eating and as much sleeping as he wants during the first few weeks. There will be plenty of time for playing with your baby as he/she grows and develops, but in those first 6 weeks you should be concentrating more on establishing feeding patterns and encouraging healthy sleeping habits. Too much awake time during this period is likely to over stimulate your newborn and create situations where sleep will be harder to achieve. If you are expecting or have a newborn who is struggling with sleep, head over to our website to book in a free 15 minute sleep chat to see if our newborn sleep package is right for you
