20.01.2022 10 months?! Wow, where did that time go? Little Samuel is not so teeny tiny any more, and he is letting us know that every chance he gets. Pulling up and cruising around on anything (or anyone) he can hold on to, demanding (even more) attention from his sisters and becoming much more interested in eating food. He has also developed this noise of frustration (I’d say it’s like a long, low grunting sound ) which we hear frequently as he tests out his environment and his growin...g abilities. Sleep has been up and down, mostly due to the final stages of that transition from 3 to 2 naps but also then going away on holidays. Being out and about and napping in various places (car, pram, carrier) meant that he was cat/napping and sleeping at strange times of the day. He ended up getting into a place where he wanted to nap way too early in the day (830/9am) and this led to having to put that 3rd nap back into the schedule, random night wakings and early morning wakings anywhere from 430/5am I knew I needed to get his naps back to just two: mid-morning and early afternoon. And drop that third nap again! Those of you who were on holidays with me know that the struggle was REAL! I got a small taste of what parents are dealing with when babies are waking early in the morning on a long-term basis SO, now that we’re home and resettled again, Sam’s (flexible!) routine is now more like: 6/630am wakeup 930/945am-1030/1045am morning nap 130/2pm-3/330pm afternoon nap 7pm-ish bedtime Congratulations to anyone who got to this point in this very long post! Anyway, I hope this shows how easy it can be for a baby’s sleep to go a little haywire (no matter how much you know!), but also how straight-forward it can be to remedy when you’re ready if you’ve got the tools in your tool bag. If you’re needing help, please get in touch. I’m very understanding and approachable, and will work with you individually to find creative sleep solutions. Contact me [email protected] Have a great day, folks See more

16.01.2022 FaceTime consults are now in full swing. 5 month olds needing sleep seem to be the most common, and I’ve met some pretty cute little bubbas this week! Here’s our Mr 5 Months; it’s handy being fresh in the sleep game! Have a great weekend, everyone. If you want to, share a photo of your little cutie pie with us. Jen

13.01.2022 I do not run a "quick-fix" service. Parents, please hear me. I used to believe in a good "quick-fix" when it comes to parenting, including sleep. What being a mumma of 5 little people (with another on the way) has taught me is that there is no such thing as a "quick-fix" without compromising on something you will likely regret later. If you do happen to need help (which we all do from time-to-time), always find someone who believes in a family-centred, connection-based approa...ch, rather than a "one-size-fits-all" deal. When you look into your child's little face, know that you know best; anyone who truly wants to help you be the best parent you can be will make you feel like the expert on your own child. Always remember that parenting is one of the most difficult undertakings of a lifetime, even for a so-called "seasoned mumma" like me. Blessings, Jen. See more

11.01.2022 Ok, so how busy is life? I haven’t had a chance to get on and say hi to everyone for ages! This little fella and his 4 sisters sure do keep me busy! What’s happening for little Samuel with sleep these days? It’s changing! Is it the same for you and your baby? You just figure out a pattern, and then - bam - they change again.. At the minute though, Sam is waking around 630/7am in the morning. He goes for a nap around 915/930-1030/11, his second nap tends to be 1.../130-230/3pm and his last nap of the day is around 5pm for a mere 15-20mins. He goes to bed for the night at 730pm. If you are struggling with a handy routine for an 8 month old, this may help (although every baby is indeed different!) ... If your baby is another age, I can help you too! You can get in touch through our Facebook page or our website. Have a great day Jen

10.01.2022 Over the next month I’ll be answering quick questions about your child’s sleep here. Please tag anyone you think may have a question for me! Yours in sleep, Jen

09.01.2022 You heard it here first: I'm going to be a travelling sleep consultant for the next 12 months! We are so excited to be travelling Australia in 2020. I'll be providing the same great sleep support from somewhere on the road. I look forward to continuing to support beautiful Canberran families and those further afield! Jen xo

08.01.2022 Travelling with a baby is a big deal! Since we’ve been living in our caravan full-time (one month!), our Mr 18 mths has transitioned from 2 naps to 1 and it was a little like a roller-coaster we couldn’t get off (one of those hectic ones that make you feel like your insides are on your outsides, and you so wish you’d not had that dagwood dog while you were waiting in line ... )... anyhoo, my point is, raising kids is tough work and sometimes the season can feel unbearable ... but hang in there, Mummys and Daddys this, too, shall pass!!

07.01.2022 I came on here to post an update and some info about a 1 year old routine, however I’ve just read something that I think mums need so much more. Please, beautiful Mumma, take the time to read this one and then take action. Jen https://www.mother.ly//self-care-is-not-enough-to-fix-how-

05.01.2022 Professional escape artist. And not even 2! What’s your little one’s special talent??

05.01.2022 Our little Sam is growing up. He’s excited to become a big brother this year. And our four girls all big sisters, again.

05.01.2022 Sam update! Because I’m hoping it will help Mummas just like me out there. Sam is now 9 months old. He recently dropped his third nap and is acing it (rocky there for a few weeks but we eventually made it)! He now wakes around 630am on average, naps 930-1030/11am and 130/2-3/330pm. Night bedtime currently sits at 7pm. Sometimes he wakes at 530am and chats to himself for half an hour, and on this mornings he’ll go back to sleep and wake closer to 7am. This seems to be a norm...al, transient by-product of transitioning from 3 naps to 2. I’m ok with it! Sam is now taking 4 milk feeds a day and eating solids afterward, except the last feed of the day where we offer half feed before dinner and half feed afterward on the way to bed. So I hope this is helpful! Sam is shown here, all cheeky at the camera. Bunny ears by his eldest sister, Emily. His other three sisters are behind the camera making him giggle. Please remember that all babies are different. The above is what works for Sam and our family, and there would be another myriad of ways to successfully raise a baby of 9 months!! Blessings, Jen xx See more

02.01.2022 Since the arrival of this little fella, our house has been super-busy! Samuel is now nearly 4 months old and we are all in a workable routine. I’ll be taking Skype/FaceTime appointments from November. Thank you all for your support over the past few months. Jen ambermaher.com

01.01.2022 This gorgeous little human joined our family 6 weeks ago. Meet our little David.
