22.01.2022 This is Bianca Raffin Art's dream journal. It's part of her video installation MINE, YOURS, OURS which is showing at Brunswick Street Gallery as part of An Oneiric Reality (an exhibition presented by Yarra Youth Services). On the show tonight, Bianca walks Bec through the "collective dream world" of the exhibition and together they explore waking and unconscious dreams about truth, hope and desire. Listen from 12-2am AEDT on Triple R - 3RRR 102.7FM, or stream it later at ht...tps://www.rrr.org.au/explore/programs/sleeptalker

20.01.2022 This is a White-striped Freetail Bat ( by Stephen Griffiths), and is the only local species of microbat whose calls can be heard by humans. The rest are only audible through bat detectors, and they're VERY hard to see. But if you're out at night in Melbourne, chances are there's a microbat hidden in a tree nearby. On this week's episode, Bec spoke to conservation scientist Dr. Pia Lentini about these tiny, elusive nocturnal creatures, and the City of Melbourne's recent Micr...obat Bioblitz. 18.01.2022 This is Joseph La Delfa, a PhD candidate at RMIT University. In this photo, Joseph is interacting with a system of his own design: 'Drone Chi', a Tai Chi-inspired, exploratory drone prototype that can facilitate meditative movement. On the show tonight, Joseph talks to Bec about the ways modern technologies like Drone Chi could be used to help with focus and mindfulness. Listen from midnight AEDT on Triple R - 3RRR 102.7FM, or stream it later at https://www.rrr.org.au/progra...m/sleeptalker Drone Chi was developed at the Exertion Games Lab (now based at Monash University) with input from Master Han Jin Song from Tai Chi Australia. 12.01.2022 This week, Finnish artist Olli Aarni explores his preoccupations with sleep + talks about the process of composing music you can fall asleep to: https://www.rrr.org.au//epi/11370-sleeptalker-9-april-2020 The music in this video is taken from Olli's incredible 44-minute piece 'Haalea', released last year on Longform Editions: https://longformeditions.bandcamp.com/track/haalea (cover artwork by Mark Gowing). Olli's new album is out now on mappa. Where else but Triple R - 3RR...R 102.7FM would I get to send these longform listening experiments out on the late-night airwaves? 10.01.2022 "I guess people's conception of what outside and what home is, is going to take a big shift..." Nico Niquo's new album 'Black Against An Orange Line' was released today on Daisart under Nico's new moniker Haji K. Nico describes the album as "home music", and tonight on SleepTalker he talks to Bec about time shifting over long, slow days spent creating sounds from home. Listening across physical distance on the show tonight: Triple R - 3RRR 102.7FM from midnight AEDT, or l...ater at https://www.rrr.org.au/explore/programs/sleeptalker The image in this video is the album's cover artwork created by Emily Bramich + music is 'Antoinette & A Single Tear Climbing Up A Wall' by Haji K, with many thanks to ju ca for organising.

08.01.2022 Hello there everyone ()/ I was lucky enough to have the chance to do an interview with Bec Fary on 3RRR. We talked about my new record, and also about home, ...distance, and isolation. Their show, SleepTalker, is a new favourite of mine I highly recommend sussing out the archive of past shows, too, if you don't have much to do at the moment ... or if you need a break from anything else you are dealing with at the moment. Bec says: "The new Haji K. project has a thick sonic character to it, rather than the very digital sheen of his Nico Niquo project. This project is what he calls home music, his own take on the daydream and chaos of creating and being locked away in quiet ambient spaces, where the shift of time is reflected only by the fading of light in the sky." Now is an even better time than ever to check out what's going on with community and online radio.
