25.01.2022 Really excited to be attending Craft Markets first ever Daylesford market this Saturday from 9-2. Market is located in Victoria Park. Come down and support the market if you want to make this a regular occurrence.

25.01.2022 Not only can you enjoy a beautiful sunny 26 tomorrow at Daylesford market tomorrow, but Craft Markets Australia will be giving away this great prize to one random customer attending the market. Make sure you come down and enjoy a great day out in Daylesford. There’s so much to do in Daylesford after you’ve visited the market.

25.01.2022 It’s with great excitement that I can confirm Craft Markets is starting up again in Victoria from Tuesday 3rd November, Melbourne Cup Day. The first market will be at Yarra Glen racecourse from 9-2 AND I WILL BE THERE . I’ll be selling my usual bamboo baby products (cot quilts, hooded towel sets, bunny rugs, bibs, etc) and I will also have my bamboo face masks for sale too. There will be a lot of COVID-19 safety measures in place, so please refer to CMA Facebook page for all the details. https://www.craftmarkets.com.au/

23.01.2022 Unfortunately I have to let you know that Red Hill market this Saturday 7th November has been cancelled. This was announced by Craft Market last night, due to an issue with parking density rules and the local council. Mornington market will still be open on Sunday 8th November on the peninsula. Red Hill is still planned for December 5th and I’m sure the COVID issues that forced the cancellation of Saturday’s market will be sorted out. With both Hanging Rock and Red Hill cancelled for this month, I’m planning on adding some other Craft Markets to my calendar this month. Stay tuned for my updates.

23.01.2022 This Sunday you’ll find me at Mornington Racecourse market from 9-2. Great morning out for those staying on the peninsula this long weekend. Reminder there is no Red Hill market this month. This Sunday you’ll find me at Mornington Racecourse market from 9-2. Great morning out for those staying on the peninsula this long weekend. 23.01.2022 March Market Update Sunday 1st - Yarra Glen Sunday 8th - Mornington Racecourse Saturday 14th - Hanging Rock... * note that there is no Red Hill market running in March. Hope to see you at a market, Michelle

22.01.2022 It's a market not far from home for me tomorrow. I'll be at Hanging Rock from 9 - 2. Hope to see you there. It's a market not far from home for me tomorrow. I'll be at Hanging Rock from 9 - 2. Hope to see you there.

21.01.2022 Looking for a lovely personalised blanket for a little boy, have a look at some of my latest orders. For a little girl, then just swap the blue out for your colour of choice. Stroller blankets are bamboo velour on the front with a bamboo jersey backing. Blankets are $50 each with an extra $5 for personalisation. Lots more designs to choose from, just scroll through my photos.

20.01.2022 With markets being closed for some time now, I’ve put my sewing skills to a different use, after some enquiries. I’m making bamboo face masks in three different sizes. Adult, child and toddler. All masks are made from 100% bamboo twill (tight weave), with adult masks having a filter layer as well. Soft elastic to hook over ears. Child and toddler masks are available in either flower print, or dinosaur footprint. All masks are machine washable. Prices are Adult mask $7 , ...child mask $5 and toddler mask $4. Pick up can be from my house, with parcels collected from table outside front door (no contact), express post $12 and standard post $9. Payment via bank transfer or PayPal for credit card. No cash on pickup. In photo below Julia is wearing the child mask. I would normally say for teenagers to order adult but Julia has a very small head. I am modeling the adult mask. All masks are contoured to sit high over the nose and cut down low underneath the eyes to stop sight interference when looking down and glasses from fogging up. I’ve spent all day today perfecting my own pattern. Feel free to share post.

19.01.2022 I use waterproof material (PUL) for my bib backings. I’ve just found a new local supplier in QLD and they do Aussie prints. From now on all new Australiana bibs will be backed by this great PUL fabric. I’ll slowly be restocking all my PUL from this Aussie business so all bib backing prints will slowly be changing. I hope you love this new fabric as much as me. Stay tuned for other new PUL prints.

19.01.2022 I love nothing more than changing up colours to suit a nursery. This cushion changed from browns and cream to shades of grey. The best thing about small businesses that do everything themselves means it’s far easier to customise. With 300 different coloured embroidery threads I can customise for any nursery theme.

18.01.2022 Reminder for November markets. Tomorrow Cup day I’ll be at Yarra Glen market from 9-2. Next weekend I’ll have a double market weekend with Red Hill market on Sat 7 from 8-1 and then Sunday at Mornington Racecourse from 9-2. ... I was scheduled in to Hanging Rock on Sat 21st however I was notified today the Macedon shire has postponed this market. Craft Markets is still hoping to run this market prior to Christmas and I’ll keep you updated. I’m very excited to have my first market in months and hope that some of you life within the 25km and can visit over the next week. Please take note of COVID-19 safety procedures put in place by Craft markets when you attend. There will be plenty of signage.

18.01.2022 Look what I’ve been doing, yep a new theme for all the sport lovers out there. I’m only just starting to embroider all the pieces, so they’ll make their appearance at March markets. As for February markets I’ll be doing the following: 1st - Red Hill. 8-1pm 2nd -Yarra Glen. 9-2pm... 9th - Mornington. 9-2pm I’m still considering whether to do Dayslesford on the 22nd. I’ll post updates if I do. Enjoy the month and hopefully I’ll see you at a market in February.

18.01.2022 Beautiful day today at Briars market in Mt Martha. I’ll be here enjoying the sunshine until 2pm. Looking for an overseas gift or to fill your nursery with beautiful Australian animals? I’ve just revamped the colouring of the animals.

16.01.2022 I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your families, and welcome to a new year. I hope it's a great one for everyone. 2020 starts with Red Hill market this Saturday 4th Jan, with an extra long market from 8 - 2pm. I'll be inside the main shed as per normal. Yarra Glen market does not run in January, so Mornington Racecourse market on January 12th is my only other January market.

14.01.2022 A great day out

14.01.2022 For those who saw the edited version on Sunrise, or would like to see me and how I make your masks, here’s a quick snapshot. There’s also commentary to explain the advantages of my masks. I custom make every mask, that’s why there can be a 1-3 week lead time on receiving your orders. Those suffering from mask acne, consider trying my masks with the bamboo layer against your face. Bamboo is a naturally hypo-allergenic fabric and is claimed to have 3 times more anti-bacteria...l qualities than cotton. That’s why bamboo is a fantastic fabric for eczema sufferers and babies that have sensitive skin. It’s also the main reason it’s used in the manufacturing of a lot of better quality undergarments. Seven News had a segment earlier in the week on different types of masks. Surgical/medical 95 masks are the best to have, but 3 layer cloth masks are the next best thing by far. The expert on Seven news advised to stay away from single layer masks and scarves. Also please do not wear masks made of stretch material like your t-shirts. The reason you breathe better with these types of masks is that there is no protection, with the weave stretching open, you breathe better but virus particles also easily pass through.

13.01.2022 As many of you will know and expect with the Coronavirus, all markets have been formally cancelled until at least Mother's Day. My family and I are all healthy and self-isolating. I am still busy sewing, filling orders, and taking on more, but only posting out. I've attached my current price list and up to date contact details. For all my designs look through the photos posted or contact me to discuss. ... Stay safe xx

12.01.2022 With markets being closed for some time now, I’ve put my sewing skills to a different use. I’m making cotton and bamboo face masks in three different sizes. Adult (secondary school age+) child (primary school age) and toddler (2+). All available fabrics are pictured. Face masks are made up of 3 layers. Outer layer is either a cotton or bamboo fabric depending on design chosen; the middle layer is a sewn in filter layer as recommended for face masks; and the inner layer is... 100% bamboo twill. Bamboo is very similar to cotton, but is much softer and naturally has antibacterial qualities. Hence why I use it for making my baby products. Bamboo fabric is more expensive than cotton though, so is not as easy to source. All masks are machine washable and should not be tumble dried, as they will shrink. Prices are Adult mask $7 , child mask $5 and toddler mask $4. All parcels will be posted; express post $12 and standard post $9. Parcels can hold up to 20 masks for the one postage price Australia wide. Payment via bank transfer or credit card via PayPal. In photo below Julia is wearing the child mask. I am modeling the adult mask. All masks are contoured to sit high over the nose and cut down low underneath the eyes to stop sight interference when looking down and glasses from fogging up. They are well shaped and contoured and will not slip. I’ve spent all day today perfecting my own pattern. ** Note when ordering, if for men with beards or overly large jaws please let me know when ordering so that I can allow extra length in the elastic. Feel free to share post.

12.01.2022 My last market weekend for this year. I'll be at Red Hill on Saturday with an extended trading of 8 - 2. Sunday I will be at Mornington market from 9 - 2.

11.01.2022 Business and communication update. Letting everyone know that I am in the process of redeveloping my website and my old one is currently closed, along with my sleepy star emails, until I find a new web host. You can continue to contact me via DM here, my new email [email protected] or via mobile 0409 163 714. I will let you know when my website is up and running again.

11.01.2022 Lots of exciting news. First I’m attending a market this weekend. You’ll find me this Saturday 13 June at Yarra Glen market from 8-1. It’s the only market I’m doing in winter so if you’ve been waiting to come and get some baby items, it’s the perfect opportunity. To make it even more exciting I’ve got some new designs. My new African Safari theme is using only shades of gray and has a lion, elephant, giraffe and zebra. As well as the photographed cot quilt, there will be bunny rugs, hooded towel sets, bibs and washers. At this stage I’m waiting on bamboo velour so there are no stroller blankets. My second new design is my chilled out penguin. This is a single only design and is available on a hooded towel set, bunny rug, bib and bib& washer set.

07.01.2022 It’s market day tomorrow and you’ll find me at Yarra Glen racecourse from 9-2. I’m located towards the end of the Member’s Drive. I’ll have new mask fabrics, including Christmas and spring/summer colours. You can also order masks by DM. I’m also stocked up with burp cloths.

06.01.2022 I'm excited that tomorrow is the first ever CMA market in Daylesford. You'll find me there between 9 - 2. There will be approx 170 stalls, so there will be lots of shopping to be had. Sunday I will be at Mornington racecourse market from 9 - 2. Hope to see you at one of the markets.

05.01.2022 Listed below are all my current design themes, which are shown on my cot quilts. 02.01.2022 As seen on Sunrise on Monday 10th August, I am adding to my existing baby bamboo homewares business by custom making and selling face masks. Masks are available in 4 different sizes measuring from mid-nose to just under the chin, with measurements as follows ; XL Adult (16-17cm), Adult (14-15cm) child (11-12cm) and toddler (2+, 9cm). All available fabrics are pictured. Face masks are made up of 3 layers. Outer layer is either a cotton or bamboo fabric depending on desig...n chosen; the middle layer is a sewn in filter layer as recommended for face masks; and the inner layer is 100% bamboo twill. Bamboo is very similar to cotton, but is much softer and naturally has antibacterial and hypo-allergenic qualities, which is great for those suffering from mask-acne. Hence why I use it for making my baby products. Bamboo fabric is more expensive than cotton though, so is not as easy to source. All masks are machine washable and should not be tumble dried, as they will shrink. Pricing as follows; XL Adult $10, Adult $7 , child/toddler $5. All parcels will be posted; express post $12 or standard post $9. With the slowness of Auspost with the current Victorian lockdown I highly recommend express post. Please see previous posts and recommendations for my masks. I’ve been making and selling masks now for 8 weeks. My baby homewares business has been operating since February 2013. To order please message with the following information: * Fabric design (A-X) and size (XL, Adult, Child or Toddler) * Postage; express or Standard * Payment; bank transfer or credit card via PayPal (requires an email address) Thanks for considering Sleepy Star masks, Michelle
