23.01.2022 The SLFC board would sincerely like to thank everyone involved in Terry’s funeral yesterday. Particularly the Newman family, Julie and Katie in the kitchen and all of our members who offered assistance wherever it was needed. Terry would have been so proud of the way we all worked together to give him the send off he deserved. Thanks also must extend to all guests for adhering to all covid regulations. Your assistance is greatly appreciated by the SLFC. ... Many of our players and supporters have asked if they can assist the Coghlan family at this time. We were reminded yesterday by Terry’s great friend that there is one way. Please support the Coghlan Landscaping business if you can. No job is too big or small and the continued success of the business would mean the world to Terry. Many thanks to the The Examiner Newspaper, Launceston for a beautiful write up in the newspaper of our beloved Tez. There is certainly a big hole to fill at the kennel but as a team we will work together to make sure Terry’s legacy lives on.

23.01.2022 The South Launceston Senior Football Club board, members and playing group would like to pass on our sincere condolences to the Powell family after the passing of their beloved Andrew, or more commonly known as ‘Powelly’. We are all thinking of Mardy, Harrison and Riley in these tough times.

23.01.2022 **** Coaching Announcement **** SLFC are very happy to introduce our Under 18s co-coaches for season 2021 Matthew Chatwin and Scott Plummer. Matt rejoins the coaching ranks after taking the chance to recharge and refresh with the year off in 2020 after previously taking our u18s to a grand final appearance in 2018. Whilst better known for his coaching Matt is somewhat of a swashbuckling halfback flanker/winger who provides loads of X factor to our reserves side. We are very t...hankful to have Matt and his far better half Emily back. Scott joins the club after a playing career with clubs such as North Launceston FC as an u19 in the TFL days to clubs including Evandale, Rocherlea, Fingal, Hillwood at senior level which culminated in a stint as Senior coach at the Winnaleah FC. Scott has however made his name as a very successful cricketer first as a player plying his trade professionally in Endgland and Scotland aswell as representing our great state at senior level. In more recent times Scott moved into coaching at the Riverside and Hadspen CCs and is currently coaching one of the junior sides at the Mowbray CC. Scott’s ability to build relationships with his players whilst instilling resilience in the group will be huge assets to our wider club but also our young playing group. Welcome Scott, Mandy, Giaan and Kasper

02.01.2022 **** Player Announcement **** We are very happy to welcome back our triple premiership star Jake Laskey to the kennel for 2021. Jake returns to the club from a stint at the NLFC in 2020 where he played in their grand final side which pre-dated two successful years at the St Patrick’s old collegians football club where he coached & co-coached the club to a grand final in his final year.... It’s great to welcome back Jake, partner Ally and their son Oakley

01.01.2022 It is with deep sadness that we let you all know that Terry (Tezza) Coglan passed away on Tuesday night at 9:25pm. Tezza will be remembered as one of the greatest club men that any club could have. Terrys dedication and commitment to the South Launceston Football Club saw him wear many hats over the years. Board member, vice president and sponsor are just some of he roles he filled but I think we can all agree he was happiest behind the bar or the BBQ where he could tell a st...ory and share a joke. Terry's love of our players, their families and the club in general has touched so many and will leave a massive hole within our club. We will be sure you will get the send off you deserve, Tezza. Sadly missed but never forgotten. Our sincere condolences go out to the Coghlan family. If you or someone you know needs to chat please call Rural Alive and Well - 1300 HELP MATE
