25.01.2022 Today we said farewell to Zarn and Dave who have ran @josephinesatthebriars for the last few years! They are off to pastures new in Mirboo North to run the pub, our loss is their gain! Good luck guys and we’ll see you for lunch once you are settled in!

25.01.2022 I had a wonderful surprise this morning that my photo of Ashleigh has made it to the semi-finals of the AIPP Silver Lining Awards! Every year our association holds state and national awards which is a print competition and it's always fun (and nervous!) to go up and watch the judging! However, due to the current situation they were able to organise a new online competition! My photo has been judged in the top 10% of 3000 entries! Thank you to all the organisers, judges and... of course Ashleigh for being such a stunning bride! Kim x

24.01.2022 We were so lucky to be able to shoot Sam and Al's pre-wedding session in that small window of lifted restrictions! We had planned a weekend but as the weather was looking very unsettled we were able to quickly move it to a weekday and look at the wonderful weather we had! Sam and Al wanted a park setting for their shoot so we chose The Briars in Mt Martha, we love shooting here as there are so many lovely backdrops, both countryside and old farm buildings! Unfortunately a few... days later they confirmed that, like so many couples, they too were having to postpone their special day until September next year. We feel for everyone in their position and also for those couples trying to set a date. You don't even have to be getting married for a couples shoot, why not plan one for an anniversary, birthday or just because! 24.01.2022 Hello friends! This year has been a little quiet on the wedding front but instead of lying on the sofa watching movies we've been busy creating new photography services! We will now be offering a range of shoots from couples to families, pets to beloved motorised horse power! We can also offer business shoots such as social media content with both stills and video. ... As you will have heard for the next few weeks weddings are back to 5 people, hopefully this will only be for this period Unfortunately our Bridal Expos Australia expo to be held at in August has been cancelled due to the restrictions. 22.01.2022 From Behind the Lens: Sometimes the weather doesn't play nice... after all we are in Melbourne and we do come from the UK so we should be used to it! Once in a while the Rain Gods just have to wreck a couple's plans for their beautiful outdoor ceremony and none more so than Ebony and Justin whose weekend ended up with a severe weather warning! They'd planned Emerald Lake Park, a gorgeous setting for the ceremony and the photos but following closure of the park the day before ...the wedding they had to come up with a Plan B, fast! The only place they could find was a function room at a pub in the Knox Centre, they and their friends did a fantastic job in decorating it at short notice. However, that left a "where to do the photos" question as we could only get to the reception centre at a certain time. We do pride ourselves on getting creative and we like a challenge! So we looked around and found this amazing orange wall, it went beautifully with the bridesmaids' dresses and then we found all sorts of hidden backdrops from the outside of the cinema, zebra crossing and various trendy restaurants! In fact Ebony and Justin went back to the zebra crossing and recreated one of the shots for an anniversary! During rainy photo shoots we've used hotel rooms, tiny corners of restaurants with a lovely painting or a light so whatever the weather we can usually find somewhere to still produce some gorgeous shots for you!

19.01.2022 Yay, we got there! As Victoria swings back into action 10 people plus celebrant and 1 photographer will be allowed at a wedding. Unfortunately at the moment it's not set to change on the 8th by the looks of it, let's hope they expand the numbers nearer the next announcement! 18.01.2022 Some winter days can be beautiful... (today wasn't one of them!) If you are planning a winter wedding then: *Choose your venue wisely, nice fires and good lighting. Somewhere to take photos if the weather is bad. Venues can look quite different during the seasons so check them out during the year! ... *Bring your ceremony forward to make use of available natural light or have your first look and photo shoot beforehand! Michelle and Martin had a perfect winters day for their wedding at Summerfields Country House, we don't think we've ever seen the lake so still, fantastic for some great reflections!

18.01.2022 13 is the new 5! Last week the Victorian Government announced changes to the number of people allowed to attend a wedding, 10 guests plus the Celebrant and the couple! As before if you wish to have your wedding captured the photographer/s and videographer will be included in those 10 guests! We eagerly await to see if this changes again in a couple of weeks as restrictions ease! It does make it hard for wedding planning at the moment but whatever the size of your celebration then we’re happy to tailor make a package for you to adapt to any current guidelines!

17.01.2022 *UPDATE* New info today: the wedding can take place outside of the 5km bubble but must be in metro if you reside there. Photography is still officially closed until the next step... Hi there!... Weddings are back on but...... very restricted! Only the celebrant is allowed to travel outside of their 5k bubble and we are still a closed business under the rules Fingers crossed we will reach the next stage on time and things will get a little better

09.01.2022 From Behind the Lens: When you need to be in two places at once it's very handy to have two photographers! This always works well for getting ready shots as we can split up and our couple doesn't have to rearrange any of their day. Then you have a situation like Chloe and Tom who had the opportunity to arrive at their reception by boat! Not wanting to miss either aspect of their arrival then having the two of us was perfect! 04.01.2022 We recently had the opportunity to stretch our commercial muscles and produce some short videos and stills for Mickey Blue in Mornington. Michael, who owns the shop, wanted to promote his winter collection of stylish men's coats along with some really cool jackets, shoes and funky socks! So, as it's a little chilly right now, have a look at the videos on his page and look good whilst going for those winter walks! 04.01.2022 From Behind the Lens: Whilst we wait for restrictions to ease a little so we can start shooting small weddings and family portraits again, we thought we'd take this opportunity to show you some other images from our weddings and explain a little behind why we love that particular shot or shots so much! We'll start with these two from Candice and Will's wedding from April last year. Although we'd shot at Baxter Barn - Weddings & Events before it was the first time with this s...et up where our bride walks through the arch towards the cottage. This view provides a great opportunity to "lurk" behind the hedge to capture Will waiting for Candice. 03.01.2022 Happy First Anniversary to Emma and Chris! Emma and Chris chose All Smiles Cocktail Weddings for their special day. As their ceremony was later in the day they suggested having the photos first so that they and their guests could seamlessly flow into the reception. It was a very balmy evening so guests were able to enjoy the city views from the balcony.
