24.01.2022 Nice! One month in! . First month goals were lose 3-5kg, an inch around waist and come to gym at least three times per week ... . Sid lost 4.6kg 2cm off his waist and came at least 3 times per week to gym even training around an injury ... . Well done! Same goals for next month plus 350kg leg press . 20.01.2022 FORGOT LUNCH . We forget lunch then fall pray to our old habits ... So often .. oh well I will just have a kebab this once (twice,three times...four!?!) . This is my go to now ... . Pre-made supermarket salad (around 4-450cals for the whole bag including dressing) and I buy some protein. I usually get shredded chook meat from the deli. I do not yet trust myself buying the whole roast chook as I will eat it. If I buy 100-150 grams I put exact weight in #myfitnesspal . . If we find ourself resorting to old habits, we find a easy enjoyable option to make it easier to go back towards the habits we prefer . 09.01.2022 ICECREAM DAY! . I have changed my way of eating to lose weight this challenge . It is much more balanced and much easier for me and MY excuses and habits.... . It is still far from perfect but I have lost about 4 and a bit kg so far at about the halfway mark . One of my major issues is convenience and has been for years.. I ate takeout because I worked weird hours ... And it was easier... I didn't want to cook when I got home at 10-11pm or 6am or whatever time I finished so ... Hungries ... Maccas .. you know ... Convenient. . Not so convenient for my health though . My 'secret weapon' is #youfoodz . I find it easy to plan my day of food . Grab 2 or 3 calorie counted and macro counted meals to take to work... I make my own brekky coz I don't think their brekkies are really worth it .. few mins for scrambled eggs or overnight oats.. meh . For now I am focusing on calories and covering my protein ... I will focus on the other macros as I evolve but baby steps and slowly creating habits I can ACTUALLY SUSTAIN is much better for the long term . And OMG it is so nice to not be on my crazy 1500 calories I was on previously... Yeah I lost weight...went back on quickly (not all...but still) I am on approx 2200 and it is a relaxed 2200 full of delicious variety... . Today I had a 900 calorie icecream... YUM! .. I do that as my trek day treat.. it's great ... 07.01.2022 THE MORE YOU KNOW . I like a burger, I still eat burgers even though I am losing weight... Definitely not as many as I used to . I like to use my fitness pal to give me an idea of what I am eating, it also helps plan out things I may or may not eat... Like today ... I wanted an Aussie burger and before leaving home I checked #myfitnesspal to see how many calories my burger to be would cost me.... . 685 cals .. not so bad .. for the cals I can eat right now... done! .. might grab a storm too .. checked that and it was almost as much as the burger ... 580 odd cals ... (Turns out that was the American version) still .. at around 300 cals I decided not today. . I ask all my clients to use my fitness pal to assist in learning the value of food and where it fits calorically in their diets. It is not intended to force an obsession over 1 cal versus 1.33 cals over or under, but to help create a healthier understanding of food, portion sizes and where the sneaky buggers lie waiting .. . Out of curiosity I added up an Aussie burger meal with a storm, this is a meal I would have often had two of in one day ... On top of snacks and what ever other meals I ate. This is back when I was over 140kg, severely overweight and firm in my knowledge I did not need to learn about calories because 'I knew the difference between healthy and unhealthy' .. I wish I had of taken more notice then .. might have given me back a few more of 'my lost years' . 1800 calories .. if you break it down .. the 685 cal burger with that amount of protein should fill you up sufficiently. Have a water or coke Zero and no chips .. not so bad but still easy tasty takeaway but that's more than 1000 cals less .. .
