25.01.2022 A reminder for owners and sitters or all large breed dogs - please make yourself aware, there are prevention options and you should absolutely discuss these with your vet. Hold your furbabies tight, tonight a family is grieving the loss of tneir beautiful loved ridgeback. Hold them tight and put yourself in the best position to avoid this. I have shared this information once years ago as it was brought to me by a devastated family who had lost a ridgeback, not related to ours, this one was one of our babies - a slopenridge puppy (who was all grown up now). This is important for anyone who has or is considering breeding to also note and discuss with their vets.

You must have a secure yard with high fencing and be willing to spend time with her as she loves attention. She must not have access to livestock. Despite her size, she is still a puppy and is not yet fully trained and therefore requires an experienced owner. ... She is housebroken. 23.01.2022 We are very proud grandparents :) Zhali is a roan and tau baby and has given birth to 8 healthy happy babies. - I admit to being a bit jealous of Zhalis family for all the puppy cuddles and that new puppy smell :)

22.01.2022 We are absolutely humbled by all the love. The lovely comments and support, phone calls, messages etc. Thank you so much for everyones support. At this stage it looks like a suitable home has been found for Jani, and we have some options for Roan to look into.

20.01.2022 Chip check I have a new round of microchip update emails - please check these - if your baby was born 2014 please ensure the microchip has been transferred to your name - all of these are still in our name

19.01.2022 Please read; 1. Please check your furbabies. While it does not appear to be a breed specific problem- all our furbabies love sunshine. Please check them regularly- for ticks and anything out of place also, but also melanomas. This 7 year old boy has had 6 melanomas removed to date. If in doubt, ask your vet. 2. Please, PLEASE keep your babies microchip details up to date. Each year we have a couple of calls from councils, dogs home or vets as they have a ridgie whos microchip... has never been updated. I have done my best to keep copies of microchip numbers and some kind of contact for everyone just in case, but a mishap in the last couple of years resulted in me longer having the earlier records, and a few later ones. Recently an older ridgie was taken to the dogs home as found and sadly his owners were not located. Its heart breaking to think that someone out there is missing their senior dog and have no clue he has gone to a new home. Do not let thos happen to you. 3. Be certain. If your dog (or any pet) is showing any signs of injury or anything out of the ordinary, please be 100% certain of the cause, if you are not certain of the cause or even think vet check may be in order - please do it. Recently a situation where everything pointed to a minor injury turned put to be fast growing cancer located in the leg. Assume nothing. Lastly, hug your babies tight. Tell them they are a good dog, give them that last hug / kiss goodbye. Our pets have so much to give us, let us make sure they know they are loved. See more

16.01.2022 This is amazing, I know there are many spectacular dog breeds out there but for me life is not complete without a ridgeback, what a truly amazing and versatile breed they are, so loyal and loving and so powerful, intelligent and practical also (well sometimes). I have never met a person who has had a ridgeback in their life - even just known someone with a ridgeback - that has not spoken highly of the breed. We miss our girls terribly (I fess to a little sniffle when i watched this) and talk almost daily of the time (likely years away yet) that we can share our lives with ridgebacks again.

15.01.2022 Thank you so much everyone that enquired and those who offered any help they could give. Both Roan and Jani have now gone to new families, and we could not be happier with the homes they have gone to, both are people known to us and it makes it so much easier for us knowing this is the best thing for them. We still have simba here (one of Janis pups) with is for a little longer, I am certain once he goes we will miss everyone terribly. Its going to be very different without a house full of ridgebacks every night. From All of us I would like to say again, thank you.

10.01.2022 So the Lion King theme has been done with Ridgie litters (and every litter my family voted me out from doing it again) - so these being our last litters, and extra special to us, and having watched the Lion King I think 100+ times (and having owned and replaced it at least 4 times over the years, and then this year myself, my sister and my daughter saw the musical live - what an amazing experience (hoping to get to Melbourne and take nanna, who would also love it), I have won - but with a slight difference - meet the cast of The Lion King - musical #lionkingau - while we did our best to include everyone, as other dog breeders know, we must send multiple choices through and hope for the best. we have done our best to match puppies to characters.
