11.01.2022 Vail Resorts have made the difficult decision to suspend the operations of all our North American mountain resorts and retail stores. This is happening in Canada and Europe as well. Nothing has been announced that we are aware of regarding resorts in Australia.... However, on ABC NEWS tonight the Prime Minister said the virus may be with us for 6 months which raises the distinct possibility that our winter season will be disrupted. Our lodges now are in the relatively quiet period with minimal bookings usually ahead of increased occupancy likely over Easter and the school holidays. Clearly there must be serious doubts about safely operating a Club ski lodge at the present time given the coronavirus situation, especially where there are mixed groups sharing the lodge. Even where that is not the case, Clubs will need to think through the consequences if someone in the lodge has the virus from a previous week. This could require sterilizing the whole lodge, people being locked down for 14 days and subsequent bookings being notified they cannot attend. Each Club will face different circumstances eg lodge size, membership profile etc. But for now the prudent course is probably not to allow bookings in the short term until the position becomes clearer. We are closely monitoring the situation and will keep you informed.

11.01.2022 Coming down for the Easter Long Weekend? There are loads of organised activities - not to mention a full moon to highlight the range at night.

10.01.2022 The news to date is good on the bushfires so far as concerns Guthega, Perisher, Smiggins and Charlotte Pass. The resorts missed the fire yesterday. Fortunately the southerly change winds last night were not as strong as forecast.... It rained last night (around 8mm) and is quite cool in the area and so the situation has eased. For now we are through the danger period according to the RFS website downgrading all fires today to on watch. However, the Fires Near Me app reported this morning there are 2 out of control fires within 20km of Perisher, and another 5 within 50km, of which 4 are out of control. Clearly the situation remains fluid and may change on short notice as the weather and status of the fires unfold in the coming days and weeks.

09.01.2022 NSW Health has produced these door hangers for all lodges. #staysafe #enjoythesnowfields

05.01.2022 Checking out the Winter Olympics? Or is Channel 7’s coverage making it a real struggle?

03.01.2022 Notice to all lessees within Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes, Guthega, Thredbo, Charlotte Pass Snow Resort and Selwyn Snow Resort As you are aware from earlier advices, there is limited resources available to fight the fires in and around Kosciuszko National Park due to the demands of fire fighting resources in other parts of NSW and Australia. The threat of increased fire activity during Saturday 4 January 2020 means that the risk to resort assets will be high within and arou...nd the ski resort precincts. As a lessee, you can still access your premises to collect any valuables as long as you exit the park boundary before 10am Friday 3 January 2020. Please take some form of ID and authorisation of your association with the leased premises, to show the road closure teams on entry to the park.
