08.05.2022 Mia Mia ride committee did a great job giving us the opportunity of some great preQuilty training and the opportunity for those who wanted a 160 km ride . Sarah and Tu Shay did the 127 km it was a tougher ride than we had expected and we are really happy with the fitness both horse and rider will get from the ride . Unfortunately Stu and Typic vetted out in the 80 km and although all her scans after mil Lel VO were great obviously something else is happening Such a challenge... when you love a horse as much as we love this mare to work out what is best One of the wonderful things about the endurance community is how willing everyone is to share their knowledge and good listening skills when someone else has a problem . Thankyou It has been good to do some VGIH strapping lately feel a bit rusty after the COVID break The instant hot water system in the strapping area was outstanding! Well done to the organisers sponsors and landholders , we will definitely come again See more
30.04.2022 We have been doing some training at Wymah exploring some new tracks up Mt Wagra and enjoying cruising along river rd overlooking Hume Weir
15.04.2022 Busy 3 weeks 3 rides in 3 states We have just been to Mil Lel marathon what a great event. IUnfortunately Typic VO off 5 th leg but Stu wants to try again next year . We have had a great trip catching up with old friends and making new ones , have seen some new countryside. Typie is such a well traveled horse she is a pleasure to be with everywhere we go
13.04.2022 Thankyou Tooraweena Committee and community for such a friendly well organised weekend despite challenging weather. The ride started with thunder and lightning and rain which eased then drenched us during first leg But second leg was fine and hot so it was certainly a good trial for the Quilty course I rode Garonne Park Surreal completing her first 80 and Stu rode Baranne Tu Shay
24.03.2022 We have never been to Toongabbie before until last weekend for the GERZ champs. Traffic through Melbourne was very slow but then we got to drive through some beautiful Gippsland country. Such a lovely friendly relaxed atmosphere well done to RO and super nice exp vets Stu did the 101 km on Aloha Typic , Sarah took her young Anglo GP Turbo through his first novice 80 and Anne did 40 on GP Surreal We did get wet but not cold and I forgot to photograph the horses but got some of our journey and crew
24.01.2022 Thanks Jo for the lovely photos
24.01.2022 Life has been busy lately, our biggest news is that we have bought more land , it is a grazing block in the beautiful Wymah valley No facilities on it so Stu has been working hard building yards etc etc Lots of work and looking forward to when we can ride there as the area has abundant good riding country and beautiful views of the weir.
21.01.2022 NSW State Champs this weekend in beautiful Bondo we will miss being there but wish committee and competitors all the best We have a lot of work on atm but look forward to competing again next year In the meantime we are working some young horses and looking forward to a fun time with friends up bush over Christmas break Sarah managed a trip up bush last week and it was great to join her for a night
21.01.2022 NSW AGM and presentation were on Saturday and then an endurance forum was on the Sunday . Congratulations to returning members and to Kylie Jonkers on her election to committee and all placegetters in the pointscore Lovely to catchup with friends so much talking to do time went too quickly The forum on Sunday was so well done and Belinda excelled in the way she organised it especially pairing speakers so each topic was covered with broad perspectives The enthusiasm and kno...wledge of all speakers was excellent however Debbie and Cherry’s rider excercise session was great fun and motivating For us I was thrilled to get my 10,000 km award Stu received 2 seconds in the point score and enjoyed co presenting with Robbo at the forum The shahzada posters on all the walls were a great surprise featuring Stu and Elmo See more
19.01.2022 April has so far been a month of fencing .We are all still going to our jobs but social distancing has meant not only do we have more time on the farm but also our son Cody has been more available also
18.01.2022 We had so much fun going to The Rock ride ,many thanks to the committee for taking on the challenge of the first covid ride There were smiles all round as friends saw each other Stu rode Baranne Tushay in 40 km on Saturday with Andrew Bailey riding his new horse Swayze Anne did the 80 km on GP Elmo with Annette Bailley on Bullio Charlotte Annette and I tried to take photos with the beautiful restored mansion Toronto in the background , totally missed the mansion not good photographers thank heavens the professional s were there and we will put up those up as they come through
18.01.2022 Roseberg ride had it all, great course, good campsite, very well organised .Congratulations to the committee and to all competitors. Stu did a relaxing 40 km on Elmo his other commitments have him too busy atm to be really ride fit but he has really enjoyed the weekend away doing the trainer. Anne had the pleasure of riding Tushay on the type of course really suited to him, a good tough first leg and then some lovely tracks on second leg with the field nicely spaced.
16.01.2022 Great day visiting Sarah in Leeton it is so good to take the horses for a stroll through the back streets of the town .We do not have exposure to traffic where we live so it is good education Riding beside the big irrigation channel in the thick fog was beautiful Anne is riding Garonne Park Serenity who after having a foal 5 yrs ago has just come back under saddle Sarah is riding her lovely thoroughbred Razor Shiraz and leading Garonne Park Kapten
16.01.2022 Thankyou to Scenic City ride committee for putting on the first event for the year For everyone who has been battling fires floods and drought it was great to get together with friends and enjoy competing our horses again We really like this ride such good exposure for young horses to everything urban but on safe trails on the city fringe We took Garonne Park Kapten and Happy Feet . pictured is Stu riding Happy Feet
15.01.2022 Our first rain for 2020 not a lot but better than yesterday s dust storm and hopefully the beginning of some better times Hoping good rain falls on fire affected country We were lucky to camp at Wares yards (KNP) after Christmas with the Robinsons and Bergs I came home to work and then fires broke out lightning strikes started fires near wares yards and Stu was evacuated out New Year’s Eve
15.01.2022 Good luck to everyone competing in and organising the Matar Stables Bullio Cup tonight . It is certainly an exciting expertly ran ride and we look forward to hearing the results. We have a work presentation on tonight so we will miss this year but look forward to being there next year Baranne Tu Shay ( Pevensey Safari / Salzburg Silver Reyn)winner of the inaugural ride will be back next year We are so happy with our first yearlings by Danjera Gideon (Pevensey Safari/Danjera Khalifa) showing that same athletic conformation
14.01.2022 Last weekend March 22nd after having a Sydney conference cancelled we happily headed bush Socially so distanced we had the camp to ourselves and our horses and a couple of visiting brumbies This weekend we can dream of when this virus is beaten and we can all get back to our favourite places However it’s a good opportunity to catch up on all those things we put off eg new timbers in Stus saddleshed veranda Shed cleaning rug washing making obstacles for young horse training breaking in young horses Think we will get lot done
13.01.2022 At last we had some rain 100 ml of good soaking rain that filled our empty dams and certainly lifted our spirits Yesterday we did Tumut ride thank you so much to the committee for stepping up and replacing a cancelled ride at short notice We took 2 novice horses Happy Feet and Garonne Park Kapten both had great attitudes completing a carefull ride, 9 .28 hrs Picture is of Stu riding along a fire break , as this beautiful country was under threat so recently Ironically this course was designed to cope with wet conditions Really appreciate the efforts of everyone involved to enable us to ride in beautiful Bondo
10.01.2022 Exciting to have covid restrictions easing though during this time we have been very busy . Lots of fencing and Stu is currently starting under saddle an exciting 2 yr old filly ,Garonne Park Trinket ,whose dam Garonne Park Tiara was a very special endurance mare for the whole family and her sire Karabil Great Expectation ( Dandaloo bishara / Arabian Park Batal ) Sarah and Anne had a catchup in Leeton riding along the track beside the main irrigation channel , miles of flat track so good for letting the horses have a good canter
01.01.2022 Babies all born for the year Only 3 foals this year I always feel relieved when they are all healthy and exploring their new world We bred 2 mares to Garonne Park London who is now gelded and ready to enjoy a ridden career with Sarah. We bred Renbury Dharma to Danjera Gideon for black/ brown colt who will hopefully be a grey with black mane and tail
