24.01.2022 Surf Life Saving has been around since 1907, saving over 600, 000 lives and spending over 1.3 million hours patrolling our beaches, ensuring the safety of beachgoers around Australia. In a devastating time for our organisation with the loss of fellow surf lifesaver, Matt Barclay, we are calling out to our members and supporters to stand together as one. 05.01.2022 Saturday December 10 at South Curl Curl. Although the beach ws closed due to heavy and dangerous surf a boardrider ventured out and was caught in the washing machine like rip just near the rocks at South Curl Curl. He couldn't get in or go out to sea, and it was very dangerous for the IRB to go out in such conditions to rescue him. The RWC was called to the scene and came in through the surf, finding it also very difficult to pick him up. The RWC Operator was able to get him on the second pass, and brought him back to shore safely.
