24.01.2022 This week marked the 17 year anniversary for SLS but we haven’t had time to celebrate just yet as we have been busy putting the finishing touches on two rather large T909 builds. Here’s the first! This was a special build to meet Dean Hoye’s vision for his flagship T909.... It involved some very intricate cab stripes & pin lines to match their brand new Vawdrey quad axle trailer. This T909 also has the unique feature of a painted finish on the battery box covers, vanity panels, side bunk trims, rear bunk trims, rear bar & bumper fill panel. We upgraded the grill to fit 11 off stainless grill bars and other work included lighted bonnet hinge trim, headlight defenders, steer flares, quarter guard mudflap brackets, air intake hose covers, mirror lights, spotter mirror brackets, weather shields, drop visor, air horn covers, rear bunk lights, air & electrical reconfiguration, painted deckplates, stainless steel tank steps, tank trims, tank wraps, strap wraps, centre mount mudguard brackets, 2000IC Icepack and more. In the cab overhead UHFs, subwoofer and additional speakers, special mount plate, drawer fridge, chrome gauge covers, upholstery button covers, stainless gear stick cover, document holder, dogbox door inserts. Congratulations to Hoye & Sons on their flagship T909. The team at SLS is very proud of the finished product & thanks you for trusting us to bring your vision to fruition!

24.01.2022 Last one out of the shed for 2020!! Third and final one for S&S Heavy Haulage (for 2020). A huge push to get this one finished off, and a massive thanks to the team that put in the big hours over the last few weeks to pull it altogether. More details (& photos) to come.

23.01.2022 S&S Heavy Haulage has kept us more than busy in 2020! After 2 ex Toll trucks that were completely overhauled, this brand new Kenworth C509 is their third (& final) truck out of the SLS workshop for 2020. A huge congratulations to yet another smick additional to the fleet!! All of the painting was completed in house. This included the stripes, pin lines & scrolls. Painting & scrolling of fuel tanks, air cleaners, toolboxes and Icepack lid along with all signwriting. ... Grills bars & grill mesh, bonnet hinge trim, driving lights, headlight defenders, quarter guard mudflap brackets, elephant ears, air cleaner covers, air rams, battery boxes and air cleaner bowls were chromed, side bunk trims, Dynaflex Air Kooled exhaust stacks, stainless step tank steps, tank trims. Roof lights on the sleeper, additional cab lights under the Redot, STEDI light bar on the rear of the cab, rear of cab rack with full row of lights, base mounted Icepack, toolboxes, fire extinguisher mount, Stiff bar, stiff bar mount under rack, air/electrical at rear of rack along with Anderson jump start, Narva heavy duty worklights mounted on mirrors & rear bar, tandem propellor plate mudguards with rubber rear quarter, stainless rear bar, air/electrical at rear bar, tow hitch to suit Ringfeder One of the fuel tanks is being utilised as a water tank. Water pump and hot water heater has been fitted along with wet box complete with kitchen tap & shower. In the cab, invertor, TV, 32L Engel slide fridge, microwave under the bunk, 7 drawer cabinet, smart wheel delete kit, UHFs along with dogbox door storage inserts, height stick mount in RHS dogbox & more After the year we have had, we are now taking a much needed break. 19.01.2022 It was in 2008 that Marty Rasmussen first entrusted a Kenworth T908 to the team at SLS. In 2010 we worked on a second T908 going a little bit bigger & sleeker than the first. In December 2015 we took delivery of his 1986 W-Model which has been a longer-term restoration project which still requires a couple of finishing touches. But this weekend Marty was here to pick us his brand new T909 that we just completed. He and his driver Rob drove down in the T908. With three Rasmus...sen trucks side by side we couldn’t help but take all of them out for a joy ride & photo shoot. Those photos will be coming soon, but now we will focus on the T909 appropriately marked with Working on a Dream The paint work involved stripes and pin lines, painting of redot & Dovetail. Our other fit out work included lighted bonnet hinge trim, modified grill to fit 11 stainless grill bars, headlight defenders with LED blinker modification, side mount mudguard steer flares, quarter guard mudflap brackets, 15 Vortox air cleaners strapless mount system with front & rear lights, air intake hose covers, 14 drop visor, lighted mirrors, chrome load lights, pole mounted flashing lights, bullet style roof lights, round air horn covers, dovetail, stainless battery box covers, tank wraps, strap wraps, tank trims, 8 Air Kooled Dynaflex Products monster exhaust system, under bunk LED lights, stainless bunk trims, lighted wing trims, rear bunk trim, centre mount mudguard brackets, rear bar, powder coated deckplates and walk plates over fuel tanks, Icepack 2000IC, PTO & tipper hydraulics, remote control front & rear hook up In the cab, 50L upright fridge, Cel-fi phone repeater, UHF to overhead console, invertor, microwave in LHS dogbox, dogbox door inserts and more. A huge congratulations to Marty & Lisa Rasmussen! And a huge thanks to SLS team that put in some big hours to get this finished in time. And a thanks to the guys who stayed back late Friday night and back in early Saturday morning so we could this one out the door. She is an awesome looking rig.

13.01.2022 Happy Friday! September 29th marked the 17 year anniversary for SLS. We were too busy to celebrate on the day as we had two big T909 projects in the shop, but once they were finished we did manage 5 mins to take a breath, have a bit of play, get some cool photos & admire them for a moment or two.

10.01.2022 Check out New Zealand's first T410SAR. This truck sports our drop visors fitted by Southpac Trucks in New Zealand. These fit both the T610, T610SAR & T410SAR models with a sleeper cab.

We have had a wild year here at SLS, very proud of all our team and the work we have push out over the last 12 months. We are all exhausted & ready for a break, so we will see you when we return on Monday January 11th, 2021. We wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.... 03.01.2022 #GloryDays is transformation #2 for Jarred & Cassy Sacca and the team at S&S Heavy Haulage. Purchased second hand this 2013 T909 has 350,000kms on the clock and was brought to us to be overhauled and upgraded to suit the S&S/SLS spec. As with the Sacca K200 we finished at the start of June, all work was done in house and as you can see in the album of photos there wasn't much that wasn’t stripped, inspected, acid washed, repaired, scrubbed, polished, blasted, painted, redesig...ned or upgraded. Chassis stripped, repaired, blasted & painted, cab painted back to white, striped, pin lined & scrolled, turntable stripped & painted, bulbar repaired, acid washed, sanded & polished, new bulbar signs, driving lights, grill mesh & grill bars, rubber steer flares, quarter guard mudflap brackets, chromed battery boxes, cab & sleeper roof lights, Air Kooled exhaust stacks, rack behind cab, Icepack base mounted on rack, toolboxes, water tank, fire extinguisher mount, air & electrical at rack, stiff bar with storage under rack Fuel tanks & J-brackets reconfigured, dummy fuel tank/EGR cover, dummy fuel tank/battery box cover, tanks painted & scrolled, stainless tank steps, tank trims, counterweight mount brackets, TV/DVD player, sleeper door storage inserts, shower & water pump, headlight defenders, elephant ears, air cleaner covers, exhaust shrouds, bunk trims, load lights, Stedi light bar on rear of cab, chassis side steps, tandem propeller plate mudguards with rubber quarter guard, rear bumper bar, chrome rims, hubcaps and more Congratulations Jarred on one very, very nice looking rig. Have fun keeping it clean! And huge thanks to our talented team that pulled off this massive transformation. Definitely got a few more grey hairs throughout the process but seeing the final product makes it all worthwhile!
