24.01.2022 13th July 2009 - The boys hoped on the bus and went down to the Mexican border for some shopping at the Las Americas Factory Outlets. Then returned to San Diego and went to dinner at The Casa DeReyes Mexican Restuarant...mmmmm!!

24.01.2022 This talented group of baseballers set about the task some 30 months ago of fundraising an anticipated $65,000 to take them to the USA to participate in a number of high level tournaments organised by the USABF. Now, with $70,000 in the kitty, the boys eagerly await their departure on 5th July 2009 for San Diego California. This page has been created for family, friends and supporters to follow their progress.

24.01.2022 12th July 2009 - A day of R & R for the team, taking the trip up to Anaheim Stadium to see the Angels beat the New York Yankees 5-4. Awesome game and a great day had by all.

21.01.2022 Game 7, 7-6 (A WIN !!!) V's Team USA San Diego. Well the boys saved their best for the last game of the tour. A nail biter and our first game on tour under lights. Our pitchers did an outstanding job and our batters finally started hitting. Scott hit the first home run on tour through left field and although the fence was only 304, he hit it a good 20 beyond! Well done guys, a great way to end the tour.

21.01.2022 Game 5, 1-10 (L) to the Canadian team, the Fraser Valley Chiefs

20.01.2022 After a long and uneventfull 17hr flight from Sydney to San Diego via Honolulu, the Slyders have taken up residence at the Comfort Inn Hotel Circle South. Tomorrow they are off shopping the many local sports stores, before commencing traing in anticipation of the commencment of the first Tournament (2009 International Series) on Wednesday. Game 1 against Team San Diego (Acadamy) at 5-15pm local time.

18.01.2022 A day of shopping and taking in the sights by the boys, followed by a team dinner in the evening at "HOOTERS".

15.01.2022 Game 6, 3-3 (D) Team USA San Diego. This team has been compiled from local juniors to contest the World Junior Baseball Championships in Nettuno, Italy in August 2009. At last our boys put it all together to show what they can really do.

12.01.2022 Game 1 ended in a 3-9 (L) to Team San Diego Acadamy. Although not disgraced it is fair to say the boys let themselves down with to many errors and runners left on base. The encourageing thing is that at times during the game we put pressure on the opposition and maybe with the cobwebs blown off from the long flight and starting to get into an appropriate routine, the team can well and truely turn this result around.

10.01.2022 Another busy R & R day, with the boys leaving the hotel at lunchtime for a walk through the Gaslamp Quarter and along the waterfront to see the aircraft carrier USS Midway, then back to Petco Park for the Padres V's Rockies game.

09.01.2022 Another day of R & R for the team, with the whole touring party going out to Mission Beach and Belmont Park, where Kieran Harris and Nathan Ryan took on the "Flow Barrell" wave machine.

09.01.2022 Game 4, 1-7 (L) California Yard Dawgs. The team returned to the Point Loma Nazarene College for the second game of the day. This venue will without doubt be the best ground any of these boys will play on. It was fantastic, as have many of the grounds but

07.01.2022 19th July 2009 - Our last Kangaroo Court and BBQ of the tour.

06.01.2022 A day of training for the boys and then dinner by the pool and "Kangaroo Court"

06.01.2022 Game 3, 1-10 (L) to So Cal Outlaws. Another finely tuned group of athletes. The American and Mexican teams competing in this tournament are way ahead of our guys in class! But we did manage to score a run today, with Morgan Ryan crossing the plate for the Slyders.

01.01.2022 Game 2 0-18 (L) to So Cal Victory. We knew we would be up against some very good opposition during this tournament but no one was prepared for the Victory team. Everyone of its team has been signed to play College Baseball with one player signed with Cincinnati. No excuse for our boys though, who made 5 errors to give up 7 runs in the 1st innings. Rob was our only hitter and Morgan was on base with a walk.
